i am using a netgear router, which i had previously set up to run through google's DNS, however recently i have been getting errors stating that the dns cannot be found. to fix this i have been changing the DNS back to the dafault(ISP one), but then this setting does the same thing, so i change it back.

is there any reason this would be happening, and how can i fix it?

i have been recently been looking for a new bike, it would be my first road bike, but i want to make it good.

i have been through the shops around where i live and i have 4 main options;

the giant defy 1 (stock, as outlined on the website)

cannondale caad 8 (with 105 except the crank)

a cannondale six auoy (sounded good in the shop but haven't found any info on it since) (same gearing as caad

and a focus with 105 (yet again not much info)

which one do you think i should get, they are all the same price so that doesn't make a difference.

i have a few songs that i would like to listen to properly on my 5.1 surround sound system, but none of my files are encoded properly to do so. they are ether in aac or mp3 (and all stereo). so how can i encode them to allow me to listen to them properly?

i had a few apps that i had stored information in on my ipod touch, then i upgraded to ios 4 and lost all of this, is there anyway that i could look at the files inside the backup (that i had itunes make) or am i just going to have to restore the ipod again and try to get the app info back?

the network has around 250 computers and to reduce the power required, i am planning to sceduel a shutdown of all of the computers at about 5 every arfternoon, the problem is that i need it so that the computers will stay on if someone is using it and then turn off after their done, and it needs to be able to be set up as easily as possable over the network. does anyone have any ideas on how to do this.

also the computers are all running windows xp, and their is a mix of laptops and desktops if that makes a difference.

i am looking at buying a tamron 10-24mm lens that is designed for a APS-C camera. so my question is, if i eventually upgrade a full frame 35mm camera (eg the cannon eos 5d) can i still use it, or will it have extreme vignetting.

i have been looking for a touch screen for my media computer for a while and was wondering if anyone knew where to get one. i havee it hooked up to my main tv at the moment and want to have a mobile wireless touch screen that i can control the computer with, because i am using it to edit photos it will need to be big and have a fairly high resulution, my cameras is about 4000 by 3000 but i know that a touch screen like that whould cost the earth and my computer couldent run it anyway, so i just want one that can handle full hd (1900 bu 1280). also it needs to have a tablet pen.

so does anyone know of a screen like this.

i have recently been given a virus ridden laptop to fix by scanning it with my linux operating system. the problem is that i dont know what to use, i have tryed to use clamav but i dont think that has worked very well.are there anymore virus scanners that might find something. also the computer runs windows xp and will turn on but crashes after about 1 min of it being on.

i fell that the political partys in australia are not doing enough to fight climate chainge. and that whne people lobby the government to do a better job, it falls on def ears, so i am wondering if there is any leagal way to force (and i mean using the constitution or the likes to make the government act) the government to do what needs to be done and fight climate chainge, this cannot be something like "you will not be voted in next election" as this doesnt help, both partys are not doing anything.

what we need to try is to force the government to act while they are in power, so does anyone have ideas to make this happen.

im bord and using linux so id like to test the falure of windows viruses on linux (possably with wine) has anyone got any ideas of where i can download some more recent viruses from.

i have an old external laptop hard drive and when i connect it to my laptop in windows it works but i use ghost 8 and this doesnt see the drive.

how do i back up this drive

also i need the backup to be sector by sector and include the mbr

students in year 9 in Australia have been given laptop to work on at school but these laptops have windows 7 on them so im just wondering how cab they have it on them if the release date is the 22 of October and if they said they might not be able to afford to put xp on all of them.

i have just got a new lg viewty and want to know how to encode a video (in .vob format) into the divx or mp4 format without using the divx converter (it dosent work) and it needs to be a big picture (hopefuly full screen) i have made it work in nero but it wasent full screen and ill be watching this as i wait for 3 hours so it needs to be good

i have made many programs in python in a command line setting but i whould like to know if it is possible to make a nonevent driven gui program in python to do the same thing as a command line program but look better

when i turned on the extended desktop (just moved the screens in the resulition preferences and it asked me if i wanted to use virtual resulition and i said yes) and now none of the visual effects work ccsm donst do anything and emerald dosent work then in the appearences it just says that it couldent enable the desktop effects anyone know why and what i can do to stop this

when i close windows explorer it comes up with an error and slows down my laptop it isnt a virus and it says something about dr watson but i cant find it any where

it possible i whould like to get rid of windows explorer and use explorer 2 but i dont want to open it every time i want to find some thine so i want it to come up automaticly

how can i make it replace windows explorer

i just want it to come up like windows explorer dose normanialy and not have to right click or do anything else after ive set it up
