Red Lane at Customs: 'Goods to Declare'?
Where I live you are only allowed to legally bring in 19 duty-free cigarettes. Let's say I go through the 'red lane' at customs to declare and pay the tax for that 1 extra cigarette (a pack of cigarettes has 20 sticks). However, in my luggage I am also carrying a few extra cartons of duty-free cigarettes that I do not intend to declare at customs because it would cost a fortune.
My question is, will the customs officials at the 'red lane' go through my luggage or do they assume that if i'm declaring for 1 cigarette I will not be carrying any more dutiable goods in my luggage and let me through?
(I know this is risky but it seems to be a safer option than going through the 'green lane' and risk getting pulled over for a random check by customs officials)

I mean Theodore comes from NYC and Franklin comes from further upstate. Shouldn't they be speaking like NYers.
Check out this clip of Theodore talking: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VuKw1tJ5RY&mode=re...

14 AnswersBeer, Wine & Spirits1 decade agoEastern New England Accents in Connecticut?
Does anyone from Connecticut here have an Eastern New England accent (think Boston)?
I ask this because my father still speaks non-rhotic but I always hear other people claim that Connecticut has no accent [which isn't possible].
By the way, our family moved to New York so I don't remembah!
2 AnswersOther - United Kingdom1 decade agoLancashire Accents?
My grandfather comes from a rural part of Lancashire and still speaks with a traditionally rhotic accent.
But I have never been to Lancashire and have only heard a few other Lancashirites speak, and they all seem to to have non-rhotic accents.
So the question is, are there two types of Lancashire accents spoken in different parts? Or is the rhotic accent of Lancashire now extinct, replaced by a non-rhotic one?
