1 AnswerOther - Dining Out10 years agoWould roof rats and pack rats hang out together?
I have had some roof rats on my deck, ( which is over 30 feet off of the ground, ) eating bird seed. I saw a different looking rat tonight with a shorter slightly hairy tail. I read that norway rats and roof rats don't tolerate each other, so I am thinking this was a pack rat.

I have noticed a female House Finch at my bird feeders who cannot stop sneezing. I feel so bad for her. Her eye does seem bit swollen, so she may have Mycoplasma Conjunctivitis, but the eye is not crusty or closed shut. She just keeps sneezing and eating with her mouth open. She also seems puffy and is a bit ratty looking. Any ideas?

1 AnswerChemistry1 decade agoChemistry Kinetics Question?
Two isomers (A and B) of a given compound dimerize as follows:
2A → A2
2B → B2
Both processes are known to be second order in reactant, and k1 is known to be
0.25 L/mol·s at 25°C, where
Rate = k1[A]2
In a particular experiment, A and B were placed in separate containers at 25°, where
[A]0 = 1.0 × 10–2 M and [B]0 = 2.5 × 10–2 M. It was found that [A] = 3[B] after the reactions progressed for 3.0 minutes.
Calculate the concentration of A2 after 3.0 minutes.

2 AnswersChemistry1 decade agoIf I were baking a cake on a submarine, would I need to adjust the recipe?
When baking a cake at very high altitudes/lower air pressure, cake recipes and temperatures should be adjusted. So I was wondering if the same is true for very low altitudes/ higher pressures? Or does this not make any sense or maybe it's not a valid question?
