  • why are doctors and nurses less friendly, after the visit?

I have repeatedly noticed, across different doctors, that the nurses and doctors treat you differently after their money has been made. It's been great so far, everyone is professional up to that point. The prescriptions written, your clothes back on, and it's time to leave. There is no small talk, no friendly attitude, no ushering of the patient, and people seem to disappear... Put their heads into their computers or paperwork...

It's cold, and makes me feel like a bone whose meat has been eaten and offers nothing else.

Why do they do this? Are they trained to be jerks at the end of the meeting? To get rid of you as quickly as possible?

  • Why do conservatives believe that reduced taxes on the wealthiest, will cause economic prosperity?

Historically, the Reagan era was one of most prosperous under a republican. Yet, Reagan raised taxes to pay for the debit he had incurred while spending exorbitantly on defense. To quote:

"During the Reagan administration, federal receipts grew from $618 billion to $991 billion (an increase of 53%); while outlays grew from $ 746 billion to $1144 billion (an increase of 60%).[38][39][40] According to a 1996 report of the Joint Economic Committee of the United States Congress, during Reagan's two terms, and through 1993, the top 10% of taxpayers paid an increased share of income taxes (not including payroll taxes) to the Federal government, while the lowest 50% of taxpayers paid a reduced share of income tax revenue.[41] Personal income tax revenues declined from 9.4% GDP in 1981 to 8.3% GDP in 1989, while payroll tax revenues increased from 6.0% GDP to 6.7% GDP during the same period.[4] This represented a more regressive tax regime, with more revenue derived from the flat payroll tax versus the progressive income tax." - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reaganomics

Therefore, sticking to the idea that taxes on the wealth are bad, would fly in the face of history. Can someone explain this apparent discrepancy vs. reality and tested results?
