What do I about a psychopath?
I've been dating a girl for a few months, though in a very on-off way. So in fact, I've only been on a few dates. I believe this girl is a psychopath. There are far too many clues about it to list here, for the sake of the question, assume that she is.
Obviously it's a bad idea to continue the 'relationship'. Do I tell her what I think? Am I supposed to send her to go for psychological evaluation? Do all psychopath become dangerous in time, and if so, what can I do about it (if anything)?
5 AnswersPsychology1 decade agoIs there some classical music similar to Murray Gold's 'River of Tears'?
I really like Murray Gold's 'A River of Tears' from the Soundtrack of Doctor Who Season 5. Unfortunately it's very short and dosen't develop very much. Does anyone know of similar music, probably classical music of some kind?
The best online sample I can find is this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YcntEikC09Q, from 2:20 to 2:50. There is also a sample on Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/Doctor-Who-5-Murray-Gold/d...
1 AnswerClassical1 decade agoCan I find out why my question was deleted?
I asked a question about Immigration and Marriage. I wasn't offering or asking for any kind of opinion, I was looking for statistics. I was involved in a discussion about this topic where people were arguing and yet nobody had any facts. After a few days the question got deleted. Do people complain that asking for factual data is racist? Is there some way that I can find out why it got deleted? I'd like to ask again because I still haven't found any data about the topic.
5 AnswersYahoo Answers1 decade agoWhat will Bungie do next?
Reach is the last Halo game that Bungie will produce. They wanted to get away from the restrictions of working with Microsoft and have signed a contract with Activision. So what will they do next? A game very much like Halo, but not called Halo? Something to do with Marathon? Or a surprise game, something not set in the future, with AIs and alien races.
7 AnswersVideo & Online Games1 decade agoWhat is this person doing?
I reported a user called Maret Maret. He/She answers questions by users called Saturnus Saturnus, April April and Desember Desember. All these account were created on they same day and none of them have an avatar. They even vote down anyone else who answers their questions.
Obviously these account are all the same person, I just can't see what the point is. They ask bland questions about particular topics and give bland replies. Is this some sort of marketing? Do people get paid to fill Answers with rubbish?
5 AnswersYahoo Answers1 decade agoHow long will .NET last?
Microsoft has a history of pushing the 'next big thing' and then letting it slide into obscurity when it dosen't catch on. They've been pusing .NET since 2002 and its mostly invisible outside of business PC programming. How long before they come up with the next 'next big thing'?
3 AnswersProgramming & Design1 decade agoDo all mushrooms improve their flavour when you dry them?
I've got some dried Porcini mushrooms that taste fantastic. I also have some Portabella mushrooms in the fridge, they are gradually drying. They seem to taste better as they get dryer. Does it work that way with all mushrooms?
2 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoDo you think contactless payment is safe?
My bank has sent me a new card that allows 'contactless payment'. This means that instead of putting the card into a machine and typing in a PIN, you just wave it past a reader and it pays for you. It only works up to £10.
If you have one of these cards do you use it? Would you use it if you had one? Do you think its safe?
1 AnswerPersonal Finance1 decade agoWhat would persuade people to vote for Best Answer?
Lots of people ask questions and then don't vote for a best answer. This means there are thousand of questions left in voting. What could Answers do to encourage people to choose a best answer?
Perhaps people could be blocked from asking if they have too many questions in voting? Do you thing this would help? What other way's are there?
5 AnswersYahoo Answers1 decade agoWhats the difference between these coffee types?
I've noticed I really like the freshly ground coffee I get from Greggs, and the fresh ground coffee from Morrisons. However I find Costa coffee bitter and acidic. Costa coffee is more expensive than either of the others.
I'd like to make the same sort of coffee myself but all the coffee I've tried tastes bitter and acidic too. What makes the Greggs and Morrisons coffee taste so much better? How do I get the same thing?
3 AnswersNon-Alcoholic Drinks1 decade agoWhat is the building in the Dragon's Den titles?
The opening titles of the latest series of Dragon's Den feature the Dragons standing in front of a large, derelict, industrial building. Does anyone know where the building is?
2 AnswersReality Television1 decade agoHow would centripetal gravity work?
Following on from an earlier question, assume there is a space station (a small body of some kind) where gravity is being simulated by rotation. Like the space station in 2001.
What would happen if you were to jump? Once you have created enough force to counter the 'gravity'. There isn't actually any gravity to pull you back down, would you just keep going?
If you were to drop an object into a long tunnel, would it accelerate? There is no pull of gravity, so I assume it would just fall at the same rate all the way to the bottom.
Would it eventually hit the side of the tunnel and possibly stop because of friction? It is moving in a linear path from where you dropped it, whereas the body you stand on is rotating. Given enough time the tunnel will be moving at right angles to the object.

4 AnswersPhysics1 decade agoHow to do central differencing?
I need to write a program that does central differencing. I've looked it up on the web and found pages with complex formula that make no sense to me. Can someone explain how central differencing works?
I mean explain it in plain english, so that I can understand and then program it. I'm good at maths, use it constantly in my work, but I find it very hard to comprehend algebra.
1 AnswerMathematics1 decade agoHow fast would something spin to create earth like gravity from centrifugal force?
In the 2001 movie, a space station is shown spinning. I assume the concept is to simulate gravity by using centrifugal force. How fast would something need to spin to create Earth like gravity in this way? Does it depend on the radius of the object?
5 AnswersAstronomy & Space1 decade agoHow big is the biggest asteroid?
By comparison to the moon for example. Could an asteroid be large enough to become spherical due to it's own gravity?
7 AnswersAstronomy & Space1 decade agoCould a large body orbit between Earth and the Moon?
I've heard of regions in space where the gravity from many bodies cancels each other out. Could something (a large body of matter) orbit between the earth and the moon, with the same orbit as the moon and at distance relative to mass of each body, so that it was not pulled toward either.
Would the mass of the object distrub the orbit of the earth or moon?
If an object was at distance relative to mass, would the moon and earth appear the same size from its surface?
2 AnswersAstronomy & Space1 decade agoHow do you know if the asker read your answer?
Some asker's seem to want an answer quickly but leave the question open for much longer. I suspect they stop looking at the answers after a short while, especially when they don't choose a best answer.
Sometimes I provide long answers to complex questions and I'd like to know that it was any use to the asker at all. Is there some way to tell if the asker has read your answer?
10 AnswersYahoo Answers1 decade agoWill Holywood ever make proper Science Fiction films?
I watched the latest Trek movie last night, it was fun but had the usual paper thin blockbuster story. The thing that irritates me though is the terrible science fiction. A spaceship stuck in a black hole?
Do you think hollywood will ever go back to proper science fiction? Where there is a reason for technology other than making big explosions.
4 AnswersMovies1 decade agoWhy do people fail to ask a question?
Some questions just say 'Please help' or 'Help Needed' or something along those lines. You have to look at details to find you have no idea what the answer is. Is it too difficult to ask a question?
