Realizing what a waste of time and fuel it is to travel 777 miles one way to Cabo San Lucas from San Diego for less than 8 hours shore time, Carnival is discontinuing it. Starting in February, it's either San Diego to Ensenda and return or San Diego/Catalina/Ensenada and return. Are they making a mistake and why?
2 AnswersCruise Travel1 decade agoCarnival's tipping the Maitre'D policy....?
Carnival has all-inclusive tipping except for one specific area where they ask for more. They provide a small envelope and you're supposed to stuff a 20 (or more) in there for the Maitre'D (s) of your dining room. I don't tip Maitre D's unless it gets me a better table, so I find this to be a big cheezy. Question is...do the other lines pull this crap or is it just Carnival?
12 AnswersCruise Travel1 decade agoEngine noise...the higher your stateroom, the less it is? or is it universal?
On our cruise, we were on the bottom deck toward the rear of the ship. We caught alot of engine noise. It was kind of like sleeping in an idling big-rig diesel truck. Didn't factor that in when letting Carnival select our room. We thought the difference in pricing was proximity to the facilities. Does the engine noise in state rooms disipate as you move higher in deck or is it universal?
