I've been hanging around the auto section on Yahoo Answers for a little while, and it has been quite obvious that the amount of Jap Car-Lovers are plentiful.

Most of the people who reply with a pro Honda/Toyota answer tend to include "My moms car" "My Parents car" "My daddy" etc... Now, I understand that Yahoo Answers is a free place, and everyone has a right to answer a question, as long as it's within the guide lines. But, my issue is that these kids can't even drive, why should they be able to give automotive advice?

But this comes back to my first question on here, why is it that people hate Ford (or the other two)? And why is it that most people who have something to say about how great Honda/Toyota is makes it so easy to believe that they really know nothing about cars?

I know at least 15 mechanics, and I'm I've asked every single one of them: what is your preferred brand? They'll generally reply with the big 3. You ask them what they think about all the JDM cars (Japanese domestic market), and they'll generally say that they're good for your average grandma. I can understand the last bit, since JDM cars tend to have the style of a bowl of mushroom soup.

What are your thoughts?

Now, I know a lot about cars, and I have owned my fair few, but over the last little while I've been reading through yahoo answers, I've found that people for no reason will come into the domestic sections and just randomly post

"That's a ford for ya, found on road dead!"

"Maybe you should have smartened up and bought a Honda instead!"

Now, you might notice how answers like these are 100% non helpful to the person with the issue, but I just can't help but wonder how many of these people have done the research and have the knowledge to back of their claims.

Cars I've owned in the last 20 years

1985 Tempo - 300,000 miles (not km)

1993 Tempo - 400,000KM

1994 Tempo - 400,000KM (rebuilt motor)

My question is, why do people find American cars so "junky", I understand they made some bad stuff in the 90s and such, but the serious lack of issues I've had with my cars, I can't understand where these people are coming from when they say that stuff, so why?

Which do you prefer? I'm in the process of building a Guitar and am having trouble deciding on which to go with, I have a Les Paul and a Stratocaster.

I was thinking of doing a HSH or HSS configuration, or possibly just SSS. My style of music is Blues, Classic Rock and Country. Another option I was considering was Hot Railed Single Coils, do you have any opinions on those as well?
