Why is my voice so weird, it's really unpredictable?
So I've been singing for a while now and I'm in the school's choir. My chest voice is fine, but when I get to my head voice, it's really weird. In the mornings after I shower, my head voice can reach up to the F sharp in treble clef (5th line), but when I go to choir, my head voice only reaches up to C natural. But when I come back from school, the range goes back and I can hit the high F sharp again! Then my falsetto, sometimes I can sing in it, but most of the time, I can't, without it, I lose an octave of my range and I can't sing in class because the songs are either too high or hits the break between head voice and chest. I am still going through puberty so I guess that can be what's happening, but this has happened since 2 years ago and my voice has changed about 3-4 years ago, so I don't know. Also, it's weird that I can only hit that F sharp after I shower. So can anyone please help me?
1 AnswerSinging9 years agoShould I go to a chiropractor?
So 2 years ago, I was sleeping on the couch, my neck wasn't supported and now it hurts. I've been unknowingly popping it to get rid of the pain. Well yesterday, I was in a car accident. My head got thrown forward and back and now my right part of my neck is sore, but I also realized that I keep sleeping wrong. What are some ways to get rid of the soreness? Do I have to go to a chiropractor? When I touch the muscles in my neck, the right part is really hard but the left isn't so much. Please help :)
4 AnswersPain & Pain Management9 years agoHow do you learn proper breath support?
I've been through many videos and had lessons, and I still do not understand how to "breathe from diaphragm" I know that your stomach area expands, lower back expand, but does your chest raise? Is it just breathing shallow but expanding the stomach area? I've tried the laying on the back, but I can't copy the posture I have when laying down (I have neck problems). Can you guys give more tips on having proper support and how to conserve air when singing? Thanks :)
2 AnswersSinging9 years agoWhat is in Algebra II?
I'm a freshman and I have Algebra II starting March. This year, I've squished Geometry and Trigonometry and I'm finishing Geometry until the end of February. So what are the topics in Algebra II? I loved Algebra I (except for factoring), also, another question. Is Algebra II insanely hard? Because I'm juggling with Honors Physics and AP Language Arts starting March too. :)
1 AnswerOther - Education9 years agoWhat is a good college for me?
I know it's so early for a freshman to think about it, but I can't stand not knowing about my future, whether if I get a scholarship or not or if I can get a good job to help my family. I am in all Advanced Classes, in all the AP classes, and in all the Honors classes, and I maintain a 4.0 GPA in said classes. I'm Asian and I play flute. We're living at a 2000 dollars a month, so maybe I can get grants. I play flute and would really like to major in music and Math. It's my fourth year playing the instrument, I was in the Senior Honor Band in 8th grade and I'm still awaiting my All State results. Like I said, I maintain all A's on all my classes and I am a very hard worker. What is a good college and scholarship for me (if I can even get one).
2 AnswersHigher Education (University +)9 years agoHow to play open hole flute?
Well, I can play open hole but I need to learn how to be more consistent. I have an inline G flute, so i'm having trouble with the ring finger key (like I didn't have trouble with that key with offset G at all). It's hard to keep the holes always covered and consistent, so how can I work on that?
4 AnswersPerforming Arts9 years agoWho is your favorite Greek God/Goddess/Titan? Why?
Mine is Apollo (God of sun and music), Hestia (Goddess of Hearth), and Eos (Titan of Sunrise/Dawn)
Reasons: Apollo- Freaking awesome and I relate to him the most, Hestia- Nicest Goddess and just plain underestimated, Eos- She's Sunrise! (you can tell I like sun)
4 AnswersPolls & Surveys10 years agoMy flute is making my skin itchy?
I play a student model flute, Armstrong 104, head joint is silver plated. I've noticed that the bottom of my lip starting itching last year. Now the itching is really bad! It hurts so much, is it the lip plate that's causing the troubles, it's sharp edges never touched my skin so the itch isn't from that. It formed a rash and when I looked at it, it was really dry. I'm getting a new flute soon, should I buy a gold lip plate so I won't have troubles with a rash? Is the lip plate causing the rash?
3 AnswersPerforming Arts10 years agoIs Pearl a good intermediate flute?
I'm thinking about the Pearl Dolce 695-RBE, I'm a freshman in high school but I have made the Senior Honor Band last year and made it this year. My teacher wanted me to change last year, but now I have the opportunity to change, I have a limited budget, my parents want to buy something about 700-2000 (2000 is pushing it). So would you recommend the Dolce? Or another brand? Di Zhao, Yamaha, DeMedici, Azumi (i think that's too much for my parents), or Sonare-Powell?
