  • College full time or stay employed ?

I am currently employed full time, in a pretty much dead end job, it doesn't require any qualifications.

I'm 18 and I am thinking about doing an apprenticeship with a international company, but this would require me attending college for 4 years, and the first few years will be in paid.

I earn a pretty average wage, but I don't feel as thou I have much luck for the future with no real qualifications or skills, and I feel going back to college and doing this apprentiship programme will offer me a lot of benefits for the future.

    What do you think ?

  • Joining the RAF, but medical problems ?

Okay Ive applied for the RAF as a Survial Equipment Fitter.

But I do have major dental problems that my hospital is planning on fixing, and I may need a bone graph for this.

What are the RAF like on this sort of thing, I can't see my dental problems excusing me from the RAF, but will the treatment that I have to go through disqualify me ?

    Thanks

  • Too late to be an AirForce Pilot ?

I am 18 years old and have always had the ambition to be an airforce pilot.

But i wasn't great at school, and didn't get great grades, wish i could go back.

I got mainly C's in all the subjects, and i know that there's such a strong competition to get into being an airforce pilot.

Is it too late for me to go back to college and get the grades, would it really be worth it, and have i actually got a chance of achieving my dream if i do so.

I currently have a full time job as a mechanic, but i have so much more aspirations than that.

  • Joining the Navy/RAF .. But i'm skinny ..?

I'm considering joining either the NAVY or the RAF. But i'm naturally a skinny person. i'm only 18, so i'm still young, but i'm not a fitness guru.

I'm just wondering whether I should bulk up first, or is that what they'll get me to do during training ?

    Thanks

    P.S, UK NAVY, not US.

  • Would it be okay to make mock magazine photos ?

Okay i'm trying to build up my commercial photography portfolio, but just can't get the custom no matter how much i put myself out there.

So, i'm just wondering whether it's okay/right for me to take a photo of something that looks like it could be a story in a magazine, and make a mock magazine print with some writing on it, just to make it looked a bit more professional and that it's used commercially ??

    Thanks

  • Your views on iStockPhoto ?

I fancy getting into Stock Photography as I enjoy that type of minimalist look to stock photography.

I have read through the iStock website, but i'm still struggling to understand what's involved in it all.

Do I pay anything, or do I simply upload the image, it sells and i get some commission on it ??

    Thanks

  • Photographing a young male model ?

Ok so an 18 year old mate of mine has offered to help me out and be my model.

Trouble is I don't really have a clue how I can photograph a young male model.

There is the 'Cool' looking young kid look, but that's a bit cliché.

Does anyone else have any rough ideas ??

    Thanks

  • Gaining muscles using protein shakes?

Considering joining up for the RAF.

I am not the fittest, I am pretty slim, but I want more muscle on me, I have just started following a sit ups fitness program as I would like a more toned body, but also may start following a press ups program.

So, I'm guessing I'm going to need protein shakes to actually get these muscles to show.

What do you recommend, are there any side effects and how should I start eating ??

    Thanks

  • 1:1 macro lens - need more ?

Currently have a 60mm 1:1 canon macro lens. 1:1 is the closest, but how can I get even closer shots without sacrificing image quality ?

I've had extension tubes, but you have no control over the f stop.

    Do lens converters work ?

    Thanks

  • Christmas: Dad and his drinking :L?

Last year my dad was a bit tipsy at like 8am (before we'd even opened the presents).

We all really hated it that he was already drunk at that time of morning, and i really want to say something to him about it before christmas.

I want to tell him not to have drink in the morning, because its not fair on us.

But i don't know how to tell him without him getting defensive and it turning into an argument.

Any suggestions on how i can confront him about this but without causing an argument.

    Thanks

  • What to get engineer colleagues for Christmas ?

We're engineers, and i want to get my two engineering colleagues something for christmas.

I don't really want to spend much more than £10 each.

Don't want anything too fancy, just a small gift with a card.

    Thanks in advance.
