  • Chocolate biscuit cake (Traditonal Irish Wedding cake)?

Hello, I'm writing a report on the chocolate biscuit cake and I am struggling to find the history of the cake. Where did it come from? Who initially created the recipe? Why is it considered a wedding cake?

If anyone could point me in the direction of some websites that talk more about the history and less about the recipe, I'd greatly appreciate it. It has become very frustrating and I need to get this assignment completed.

    Cheers!

  • How to find the variance and standard deviation?

The seasonally adjusted annualized sales rates for U.S. cars and light trucks, in millions of units, for May 2003 through April 2004 are given in the following:

    M- 16.5

    J- 16.5

    J- 17.0

    A- 18.5

    S- 17.0

    O- 16.0

    N- 17.0

    D- 18.0

    J- 16.3

    F- 16.5

    M 16.8

    A- 16.5

What's the average seasonally adjusted sales rate and the standard deviation?

For the expected value (average) I got 16.88 million. I know that's right, but I'm confused how to find the variance which is preventing me from finding the standard deviation.

If someone could explain how to find it I would appreciate it!

  • The following table gives the scores of 30 students in a math examination:?

    Scores:

    90-99, 80-89, 70-79, 60-69, 50-59

    Students:

    4, 8, 12, 4, 2

    (Respectively)

Find the mean and the standard deviation of the distribution of the given data.

Assume that all scores lying within a group interval take the middle value (e.g. 90-99 would be 94.5)

For my mean I got 77.17 and for the standard deviation I got 10.5.

Is this correct? If not, can you explain to me how to get the correct answer?

    - Would this just be 13/52 or 1/4?

    B) What is the probability that the second card drawn is a heart if the first card drawn was not a heart?

    C) What is the probability that the second card drawn is a heart if the first card drawn was a heart?

If you could explain how you came to your answer for each of these 3 questions, I would greatly appreciate it. I have an exam tomorrow and I don't understand this.

  • solve system of linear equations using gauss-jordan elimination method?

I really need help figuring out to solve this equation. Everytime I do it I get fractions as the answer, and I know that isn't right because my textbook has the answer at the back of the book.

Can anyone show me how to solve these two problems correctly? I'm getting so frustrated.

    1) 2x+2y+z=9

    x +z= 4

    4y-3z=17

    2) x1-2x2+x3=6

    2x1+x2-3x3=-3

    x1-3x2+3x3=10

Any help on how to correctly answer these questions would be greatly appreciated!

  • how do i deposit cash in a PNC atm?

The banks are closed today so I can't go into a teller, but does anyone have any information as to how to put cash into the ATM? Every time i go to deposit at PNC there's two options- check with envelope or check without an envelope.

I'd like answers from PNC members, and people who have experience with using cash deposits at an ATM.

    thanks.

  • my trust issues are affecting my relationship. help.?

I was 15 when I got into my first real relationship. It was not the picture perfect relationship and in the end he cheated on me with my "best friend". I'm now 19 and the pain from that betrayal has died down some, but not enough.

I am now in a great and healthy relationship with someone I truly care about and love. I know deep down that he wouldn't hurt me, but I can't trust him fully. I understand that it's not fair to carry my baggage on to our relationship and make him feel like he has done something wrong.

Bottom line, I really want to mend my trust issues. I don't want to blame him for the hurt that someone else caused me. I just don't know how to go about this. How do i disassociate? I'm scared I may lose him because of this.

Please, any advice from someone who has experience with something like this, I would greatly appreciate it.

    Thanks.

Also, please don't tell me to just "get over it". It's an incredibly vague term, and I obviously don't know how to "get over it".
