2 AnswersPhysics1 decade agoWhat is the proper or possible hypothesis for the following experiment?
Materials:
1 small candle
1 petri dish
1 box of match
3 jars of different sizes
Procedure:
a) attach the small candle to the center or the petri dish.. Pour water into the petri dish until it is full. Then the candle is lighted. When the candle flame is steady, a jar is placed over the setup.
b.) Do the same procedure described above 3 times, one after another, each time using one of the 3 jars. Record your observations each time.
Result:
water went inside the jar, leaving the space around it emoty and inside the jar, the water that used to be in the petri dish... the smaller the dish, the faster the water will go inside the jar.
