  • Can you feed a specific type of people food (like liver) to help increase a PCV?

    I know liver provides a lot of iron, but is there some grocery store food that i can add to the prescribed vitamins to help my 15 yr old Shitzu, whom is an intact female, that will help her build red blood cells. Her PCV is 28% extremely low. She needs dental surgery, but I'll be giving high vite vitamins, till her PCV comes up. Surgery now is not an option. I'm just curious if I can give a few veggie or meat treats 1-3 times per day to assist her. I am a veterinary technician, unfortunately I am nutritionally handicapped! Help?
