I have Microtek Twin Guard+ 1000 VA UPS but it doesn't give me backup (its brand new...bought day before yesterday). While I am gaming it never gives backup (coz GPU is at full load) but at time of normal work like surfing or video watching..it SOMETIMES gives backup and that also for around 5-10 mins only (sometimes it gives only 15 secs). The UPS also produces Humming sound in Backup mode (which was not produced when i checked it before buying in shop).

Where i live, 1000VA is highest available and i cannot afford Online UPS.

What are the consequences if my system shuts down due to power outage ?? Is my Processor or GPU or PSU or any other part in risk of damage ?? Power outage are like 10-15 times a day.

My CPU and Monitor Only.

Problem -

I am in india and power problems here are major concern. Before I upgraded to GTX550Ti and corsair CX500 watt smps, my microtek 800VA UPS used to give backup.... like 15-20 mins. But after upgrading the GPU and SMPS, whenever power failure occurs, my system shuts down, i.e. UPS doesn't give backup. Went to the service centre of UPS and there it worked fine. My pc certainly draws more power than other PCs (due to GPU and SMPS). What VA UPS should I buy so that i can give backup on my PC ??? If possible, give calculations also.....

Since GeForce GTX 550Ti is a dual-slot GPU, i want to be sure whether it will fit in my motherboard or not ?? (because just next to the PCI Express slot, there is on PCI slot).

The forms for the regular B.Sc course had to be submitted by the 11th june, but i couldn't procure the form. Can anyone tell me about the correspondence course in zoology from DU, and when are the applications for it submitted. I also want to know that will i be able to migrate to the regular course in 2nd year. Plz help.....
