So if you want to get a part time job, how do you do it? do you just go into a place you want to work and ask?

What are some good ones to do? and is it an universal idea that one needs a car in college, even when getting a part time job?

so if you owe money through student loans, and later you win/get a scholarship, will you be able to use what you get for the scholarship to pay-back the loans?

I attend Rutgers University and their policy is that

when tuition balanced isn't paid off, a financial hold will prevent a student from registering classes.

Right now I'm in that situation. and I'm out of ideas.

School starts in 1/22 and I still have to pay almost 2.7k for the past semester tuitioin. The rest is covered by financial aid/scholarship. Due to the left-over balance my classes aren't registered yet for spring semester and so my financial aid isn't being processed as well.

I've tried to find other scholarships or grants in order to prevent getting any loans, but haven't had any luck. And the school have been notifying me to pay the left-over tuition the whole time since september last year -__-

Now i'm scared if they're gonna be mad at me and really I don't know what to do.

Federal Plus Loan may be an option however I'm not sure if I'll have enough time left. The worst thing is that my parents don't know about this.... and I'd prefer if they stay away from knowing this.

I have less than 2 weeks to solve this. Is there any advice that I can get?

I am a college student at a state school and until now I've been living with no worries but reliance on my parents only but now I know that I'm growing up and I'm starting to be concerned about my future.

I have some life questions to ask.

1. how do you buy a house? houses cost $500,000 on average. How on earth can someone afford it? Let's say I earn $80,000 a year after graduating. Without spending anything I have to wait more than 6 years. So get mortgages? That's a big debt and I don't know how to calculate the duration of repayment. Also when or at what age do most people "own" their own home?

2. How do you graduate college without any debt?

Is it possible? I've never taken a part-time job yet but will that help if I do? I estimate about $25,000 to be borrowed as student loan in total when I graduate.

3. How do college students afford a new car?

I was shy to ask people about this so I don't know.

So I took my driving test in Newark and failed :((

At first it was the parallel parking and that went well

but then the examiner told me to make a 3 point turn and

I was like what?? Obviously I couldn't ask him about that during

the test so I did random things to turn and then had to hear 'next time son'.

Of course I know what a 3 point or a k turn is, since I studied the manual for the

examination permit. However I didn't expect that it was going to be on the road test

because the website didn't contain the 3 point turn in 'what skills are going to be tested'.

Since it was so unexpected I initially didn't know what to do......So I thought that it would be

much better to do things when one already knows what it's going to be like.

Eventually I'm going to take the test again a few weeks later probably in Lodi (if you guys know) because the dmv in Newark is terrible in every aspect -_- .

So can anyone tell me some tips for my future road tests like what to expect and what to consider carefully, especially in New Jersey??

Does it help to go watch how other people do the testing in the appointed dmv?

I am in college dorm right now. It's a state university so it's a big *** school.

Well everything is going under control

except that I'm worried about my social circumstance.

Actually it was all the same from high school.

I kinda feel more comfortable for any reason to be alone, by watching movies, reading news, watching sports and stuffs. I don't want to watch things with anyone because then we have to talk, which actually bothers me since I can't concentrate to what I'm seeing, which is why sharing some things in common isn't contributing to my social skills.

I just don't feel comfortable to be with other people, just because of their presence.

Well, 1 to 1 is fine. However group hang outs are quite difficult for me because I feel like I can't

join in. Maybe I lack confidence but really, how can I solve this problem to myself?

It hasn't been a year yet since I bought my Samsung Sunburst, an free phone for 2-year contract.

Apparently I lost it in the river today while canoeing and seeing that the phone is in the bottom of a water I find no need to suspend my wireless service since no one is going to be able to get hold of it.

But the thing is that I lost my phone including the sim card. This is from ATT.

I want to keep my number and the contract (plan).

Will I be able to replace the exact same phone that follows the plan that I currently was in, with the same number?

Do I have to pay additional fee for the lost or new phone?

I am a high school senior holding a green card but don't have citizenship.

My high school is a well regarded school academically and has good reputation. I've done decent performance in this school. I'm currently a New Jersey resident and planning to attend Rutgers University. And for scholarship I want to apply for the AF ROTC but it says that I have to be

a citizen to apply for one.

It seems that they do allow noncitizen-permanent residents to join in the ROTC but disregarding scholarships. Well that's what the website briefly states but I don't know the details thoroughly.

Does this mean that I have absolutely no chance of being permitted to scholarships by doing the ROTC program unless I become a citizen?????????

And if not, how can I manage to have the opportunity, besides getting myself citizenship?

and I admit I didn't study a lot of it

but I GOT SHOCKED from my scores that just came out.

let me remind you that English is not my first language but.....

MATH !!! I was so sure I had every question right. It was so easy as hell. I was so certain of all the questions and I really thought I was gonna get a full grade.

but how da f**K can I get a 590 on it??????? why did this happen? I just wanted to cry. There weren't any mistakes in bubbling I swear. But I can't believe what happened with my math score ㅜ.ㅜ

I consulted my friends and they said that it's what happens to them too. Anyone else know why that could happen, when one is certain he'll get a perfect score in math and gets a 590?

I also have question in writing an essay. Do you guys have any tips for getting a 12 in an essay you have to write in 25 minutes? I got a 9. I rushed and I barely finished it. I mean, how the heck can you do get a 12?

And this is my dearest trouble: READING SECTION.

I had 590 both for math or writing but i was above 80% national percentile. but I got below 30%. it's embarrassing because I got 470. but seriously, unlike math reading was very hard. Well the vocabs I know how to deal with it. but critical reading section is hard as hell. I mean, if I am to read all that passage, time runs out. even if i read it very slowly, i forget it when meeting the question. and then eventually I don't even understand what the question is asking me about. Then the answer choices look so gay and i don't know what they are stating as well.

I know I am a bad kid for not studying very hard. I didn't even pay attention very well in summer sat workshop. I haven't even bothered to look at the guide book yet (it looked to fat to open ㅡ.ㅡ )

i'm a high school senior this year. I'm kind of a student not so active.....

and for some reason i've been having serious problems mentally, that I

lost all my motivation to study, I mean, I know that I have to do my work, but I just end up not doing it whY??? I like to stay up late nowadays when I should be doing my assignments I go look at porn sites instead... seriously I was an okay student until my junior year with an okay gpa like 3.7. I was highly motivated and eager to do better, write all my college applications as best as possible, and study hard for my final SAT.... however I screwed up... I hardly wrote any college applications nor started on my essays (most are due 1/1) and my parents don't know about it because I lie to them. This marking period, I did so bad that and it brought my GPA down a lot. now i have 3.3, and I hid my report card that was mailed home. I didn't study for tests, nor did homework constantly, and violated many of project deadlines.. i've been skipping classes a lot but I tell them it's all okay and are under control..... no. they're not under control. I just don't know what's wrong with me.. I'm a very dedicated christian, and I believe I have a special (close) relationship with God. but what i'm becoming these days is that i'm falling apart from him morally and in faith. I'm like lying, wasting my time on the computer, omg. I basically don't have a life !!. Even my parents don't know about this.

I know and I can judge that this is completely wrong and that I should stop being like this, but I just can't resist myself. right now it's 2 in the morning ..... I just handed in one of the college apps, which was my first choice but I horribly wrote my essay because I lacked time... I'm so.. you know?? what am I supposed to do now? How can i cure myself? what is more popular worldwide? only 16 countries from Europe participate in the euro football championship and there are 20 countries participating worldwide in the rugby world cup, and wikipedia says that rugby world cup is one of the most watches sporting events, but not even a quarter of that of FIFA world cup and i think its ratings can be exaggerated. But I can't find any information about euro. where do i get the information? or if you know? how high is it?

I took the SAT 1 a couple of times and the scores were horrible. Since my junior year is no over I'm worrying if I might be too late to send scores to colleges. Also, can send the SAT score taken in december of the senior-year, or is it too late??

the top three world sporting event is said to be the FIFA World Cup, then the summer olympics, the winter olympics, and the Rugby world cup. Well the fifa world cup is actually something that we obviously know that it's #1 and the fact that olympics are for everyone also gives the point why it's #2. But I don't understand why it's Rugby World Cup. Well I have an experience of living in South Africa so I know lot about it and I know that to many people it's just like FIFA World Cup. But Compared to the popularity of the world event, rugby is like so quiet and forgotten in those countries that go crazy when it's rugby world cup time. not in SA, Australia or New zealand, but in England, Argentina, France, and couple more countries, people don't care about Rugby. Scottish and British people are gone crazy in their football league and so does the french and the people of argentina .......WHy is that? ANd people in Yahoo say that basketball and hockey or volleyball are more popular than rugby in Europe. IS that true? is rugby popular only in the Rugby world cup???
