Ladies, Please help if you have used the Nuva Ring???

I had my well woman exam on April 21, and after discussing BC options with my doctor...she inserted the Nuva Ring. (We had only been using condoms).

Here is what I am going thru now:

-Within a few days I was on an emotional roller coaster either anxious, depressed, or mad all the time. It seems my guy can't do anything right...I get mad at him for every little thing. I usually only get like this a day or so before I get my period.

-My sex drive has disappeared! We went from about 4 times a week to once in the 21 days with the ring in. And, despite lets of trying on his part I could not orgasm.

-I have only gained two pounds, but I feel bloated all the time. I feel wet down there all the time, and often wake up in the middle of the night now.

I did call my doctor, she said its my body adjusting to the hormones and will regulate itself. She suggested keep using the ring for 3 cycles.

After all this rambling about my side effects...what I really want to know is does the ring get better after your first period using the ring? I can deal with some effects. But the emotional roller coaster feeling and ZERO sex drive really defeats the purpose of using birth control for me.

I just removed the first ring, and have to hear from others out there before inserting the next one in 7 days.

I know there are only a few days a month I can get pregnant. I've heard its halfway thru my cycle, but also read about ladies monitoring their discharge and other factors to know exactly.

We just stopped using birth control (condoms or pulling out) on January 1, but I am getting PMS type feelings already so I don't think we got it this month.

My last period started on 12/27/07 and next period is due 1/23/08.
