  • Looking for cabin luggage?

    Hi

I'm looking for a laptop bag, preferably not a rucksack, which is the maximum size allowable for carry-on luggage - about 55x40x25cm. This is so I can get enough gear in for an overnight trip and I won't have the hassle of checking-in and retrieving hold luggage.

Does anyone know of a brand and model that is suitable?

    Any suggestions?

  • Why is circus transport allowed more than one articulation?

Most road vehicles are restricted to one point of articulation (car and trailer etc) but when circus convoys travel from town to town they seem to be excepted from this rule. One often sees a lorry towing a ride, towing a caravan with two, three or more points of articulation.

I once heard a fairly plausible explanation that King Charles I gave showmen special dispensation for this during a war with the French when horses were scarce and the law was never repealed.

Has anyone got the true explanation?

  • Aerosmith instrumental - what language?

On the Aerosmith album Permanent Vacation the last track is an instrumental called 'The Movie' but with some speech in the middle. Does anyone know what language this is or, even better, a translation?

    Here is a link:

It sounds a little like Gaelic.

  • Lifestyle potential in Australia?

    Hi

I've been offered a job in Australia for A$ 85'000 but, though I know the exchange rate from Sterling, I don't know what sort of lifestyle that will buy me in Australia.

I know it's a tricky one but can anyone in Oz give me an idea what that salary equates to in UK terms?

    Thanks

  • Do eviction enforcers need licenses?

A friend of mine is being faced with the prospect of eviction from her home of 20 years. The last time this happened, 10 years ago, the enforcers were very heavy-handed and the police - who were there as observers - stopped the eviction. The enforcers seemed to hired-for-the-day thugs, not a professional security company.

My question is; do enforcers need to be licensed in the same way as nightclub doormen. If this is the case we may be able to challenge the eviction on legal grounds on the day.

    Thanks for your help

  • Why do shells always spiral the same way?

On a recent trip to The Gambia the missus and I collected shells from the beach. We got plenty of spiral shells (as opposed to bivalves) of maybe 10 or 12 different types and every one of them had the spiral going the same way. Can anybody explain this or should I have just concentrated on my tan??!!
