I have Corturnix Quail and I live in Iowa. Can I feed my quail peanut butter this winter and also as a treat. Also what can't I feed them.

I'm trying to find breeding stock in chickens. My questions are as follows.

1.should I feed my chicks just plain grains like; corn, wheat, oats and other grains? I think I should because I want a chicken that will do well in harsh conditions and the ones that seem to thrive on this would be excellent breeding stock and then imagine on how well they would do on layer feed

2.how do I keep track of which hens are laying how long and what kind of eggs are they laying.

3.how would I tag and ID my chicks

4.How do I decide on a breeding rooster for egg layers

how do I keep breeding chickens, do I keep all the hens and then move to a different rooster

my moms horse is 16 years old and has a heart murmur. and last night she had a stomach ace and a mild case of colic and is doing fine right now but the vet said she also had some fluid in her lungs. will the fluid in her lungs clear up with the cilia hairs. and what else should I do to help her or my mom? also what should we expect with this heart disease.

I want my broilers to gain weight fast and pack it on so I hear turkey feed has a higher protein content to it so any advice on high protein feeds? Also How can I buy my high protein feed for the cheapest price?

I have finally decided to try the broiler project for fair. 4-Hers will have someone sponsor them $35 so the they can purchase 25 chicks. The 4Her then raises the chicks for 8-9 weeks and shows a group of 4 weighing a total of 16lbs at fair. Two weeks after fair the 4-Her must give 5 of his or her best birds out of their flock to the sponsor and can sell the rest for a profit.

I have raised chickens before but they were laying hens. I know how to raise them from babies and when to feed them and when not to feed them. I am not necessarily trying to win. I want to know how I can make them grow fast and gain weight to create a nice profit. I was thinking on tractor raising them on grass. Please let me know how I can do this. Any suggestions because I need to know. I'm 16 and have been raising chickens since I was in 4th grade and sell eggs to local people.
