I am a Christian, a proud Army wife and also a mom to a 23 month old boy. I love the outdoors, sports, photography, and doing anything with my family. I miss North Idaho(where I grew up) but I love the opportunity that I have been given to move about the country. I am the kind of person who is happier with a few best friends, than with a ton of acquaintances. My pet peeves are people who don't support our troops, people who don't know how to drive, people who chew with their mouth open and people who think they know everything.

  • What's the best way to "disinfect" my son's stuffed toys?

My 2 year old son had pink eye last week and it was almost gone, then it returned to both eyes.

I think that the stuffed animals he sleeps with need to be disinfected. I am thinking about just chancing it and throwing them in the washer. I guess I can always get new ones if they get ruined. Does putting them in a pillowcase on gentle work well?

I have ready many things and just wanted to see if anyone has any new ideas.

    Thanks in advance!

  • What are Obama's plans for the military?

My husband is active duty Army and now that Obama is going to be our president I am hoping that some of you who know more about his views can tell me what his plans are with the military. Not just Iraq and Afghanistan, but in general. I am also going to do more research myself, but wanted all the info I can get. Thanks in advance!

  • Is a baby harness a good idea?

We are taking a trip to Sea World San Antonio in June and I have been thinking about buying a baby harness for my son, who will be 20 months by then. He is such a curious boy now, and I am sure he still will be then, that I am worried about him running off. I don't want to confine him to the stroller since there will be so much to see.

Does anyone else use a baby harness? Or do you have recommendations for a brand? Also, what has your experience been in using it (from the baby, and from other people)?

Thanks so much...and I will be chosing a Best Answer!

  • Anyone know anything about static and electronics?

I posted this in Consumer Electronics, but wanted it on the Science board too.

Last night my husband went to put a DVD in, and when he touched the DVD player, he was full of static, it shocked him, and it made the DVD player turn off. Now it will not work at all.

Is it totally ruined, or is there a way to fix it? Is it just a coincidence, or did that static shock really fry the DVD player?

Thanks to anyone who answers, and I will be choosing a best answer!

  • Making Wireless Network Secure?

Okay, I know this has been asked before, but what I have read hasn't helped me much. I tried putting in the IP into the browser and that didn't do anything other than ask me for the user name and password-it didn't allow me to make one.

Do I need to be on a computer with a "plug in" wireless card that we bought with the router?

I have been trying to do it on my laptop that has wireless built in.

I have been getting a message on my laptop saying "There is an IP address conflict with a device on this network", so I am assuming someone is using my wireless router.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Dry Rough Patches on Knees....Any Help??

I have some extremely dry, rough, dark patches on both of my knees. I didn't have them until I was about 4 months pregnant and my baby is now 9 months old.

I exfoliate them weekly (they get too sore if I do it more often than that) and put baby lotion on them everyday, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything.

I have been thinking about sleeping with vaseline on them-with something over them of course! Other than that, do you have any suggestions or secrets that might help?

  • Good Meal Ideas for In Laws?

My in-laws will be coming tomorrow and staying until the 12th. I am trying to think of some good meal ideas that won't leave me in the kitchen all evening.

I am not trying to impress them at all. They already know my culinary skills! We plan on grilling a few times, weather permitting. But I am trying to think of backup plans and other stuff. I am already going to do spaghetti the night they get here.

I am up for ANY suggestions!

Just thought maybe some of you would have better ideas than me-as my brain is scrambled with a 9 month old!!! THANKS!

  • Do any of you new moms constantly have dreams about your baby?

I am specificall talking about dreams that the baby is in bed with you and something happens....you roll over on him, he is about to fall off, your spouse squishes him, etc?

Our 7 month old son has never even slept with us but I constantly have these kind of dreams. My husband tells me that I am always grabbing him, and I know that I am thinking he is the baby when I do.

Any suggestions?? I thought about trying sleep aids to see if they will ward of these weird dreams......
