  • How can i make money offering pc repair?

I'm just starting college this fall and have no certifications nor official experience, but I have been repairing my own pc's for well over two years now, and want to make some extra cash by offering my services to local neighborhoods.

I plan to charge super cheap (~$7) for pc help and repair; Nothing too hard, just tune ups and virus removal or maybe a hardware problem that needs fixing.

If anyone done this or something similar before, give me some advice. I'd be planting signs at intersections and by the side of the road for advertising.

  • Tell me about computer certifications.?

I'm studying for a degree in Computer Science but in between summers or maybe during school I want to pursue some certifications from say, Microsoft, Oracle, or Cisco.

I really just want to learn more about computers and IT as well as improve what I can bring to a a potential employer. Ideally, I want a cheap certification that's <6months. But I really don't know what I'm asking for, so. If anyone's got any sagely advice they can pass onto me, please do so.

  • How low is too low for taxes?

Is there such a thing as too low?

Or is there no such thing, to the point of no taxes?

  • Is Grover Norquist's no-tax pledge good?

Grover Glenn Norquist is an American lobbyist, conservative activist, and founder and president of Americans for Tax Reform. He is best known as the promoter of the "Taxpayer Protection Pledge"—signed by 95% of all Republican Congressmen and all but one of the 2012 Republican presidential candidates—whereby the signer promises to:

ONE, oppose any and all efforts to increase the marginal income tax rates for individuals and/or businesses; and

TWO, oppose any net reduction or elimination of deductions and credits, unless matched dollar for dollar by further reducing tax rates.

Is this kind of binding ultimately good for the economy and the country as a whole, or is it harmful to Congress' ability to compromise, which a majority of Americans support.

  • Would you prefer a Meritocracy?

    Definition of MERITOCRACY

    a system in which the talented are chosen and moved ahead on the basis of their achievement;

leadership selected on the basis of intellectual criteria

an elite group of people whose progress is based on ability and talent rather than on class privilege or wealth.

A system in which such persons are rewarded and advanced

Leadership by able and talented persons.

AS COMPARED TO-A republic whose leaders are elected thanks to massive campaign donations given to them by corporations, and as such are indebted to are and under the sway of said corporation's influence. Such a republic truly represents the interests of the company rather than of the people.

  • Was the Iraq war worth it?

The President has announced that we will withdraw all US troops from Iraq by years end.

Thousands US/coalition dead. Over a million civilian dead. Several thousand lost limbs, crippled veterans.

An ousted dictator. A free "liberated" Iraq. Middle East now moderately safer without Saddam.

    Was the war worth it.

  • Please help with this Macroeconomics question?

I'm completing a worksheet dealing with Aggregate Expenditure models and Keynesian economics. One of the questions asks-

"If the proportion of total income consumed (APC) decreases and the proportion saved (APS) increases as income rises, explain how the MPC and MPS can be constant at various levels of income."

    Thank ye

  • So why is the new buzzword for rich people, "Job Creators"?

Because Mr. Smith who lives off interest in the bank and stocks and bonds is really making jobs all day erry day.

Sorry to bust your bubble, but some people's daddy just happened to be rich and so they too became rich.

Another fun fact. According to a recent cover of Time Magazine, 85% of the wealth in this country belongs to the top Quintile (top fifth) of Americans.

The last time we saw this type of wealth gap was during the Great Depression.

Here's another fun fact: Taxes are at a historic low, and yet the economy is still struggling. Not to say higher taxes will improve the economy, but rather that low ones aren't necessarily doing much.

Want more? Inflation is at a moderate 3.7%, which is contrary to claims by current GOP candidates that Ben Bernanke is "treasonous" with his printing of money to devalue the dollar.

Wanna fix the economy? Start spending! If all Americans were to suddenly increase spending dramatically, the economy would be fixed within days. But wait, we cannot find a job, because of the housing market bust and malignant business practices of Wall Street.

I end my rant and give you the floor, Internet. Prove me wrong.

  • Why is CNN known as Communist News Network?

    Anyone care to explain.

I doubt they are pushing a communist agenda, they seem pretty tame and unbiased, for the most part.

  • How can I tell if my son is gay?

I'm a father of four, with my son the youngest of three older daughters. Let me clarify, I have no bad feelings for homosexuals nor their own kin, however I would still like to figure this out without directly asking him.

You see, our faith denies homosexuality and claims it as a sin, but I personally ignore this portion of my faith and see God's love in all of us.

What I am inquiring to here is if there is a blood test, or psychological analyzing that can be done to check if my son is gay. Perhaps a cheap kit I can find in the mail? Please help a father with a truly nagging problem.

    Thank you.

  • Is there a computer job in the Marines?

I like computers but people say if you want to work with them you should join the Air Force or the Navy. I don't want to and would rather join the Marines but if there aren't any then I guess I'm screwed.

Programming, networking, hardware all interest me if someone could let me know if there's a job for me.

  • Low Taxes or No Taxes?

Do you agree with Grover Norquist's pledge of no new taxes, and if you do, do you also agree with the idea of NO TAXES at all? How low is too low and how high is too high?

    Explain, for personal enlightenment.

  • How to make money through my computer at home?

I have no intentions of getting a job or walking out of the house to make a buck fifty an hour.

I'm looking for sagely advice on making/appropriating money on the internet. I'm aware of Ebay, and survey sites that pay out cents. Please do not pitch me your sites. I'm fishing here for someone that genuinely knows how to make decent dough, you know who you are. I'm a tech geek, but have no idea how to put that to use. I'm looking for someone that does.

    Thanks in advance, Internet.
