  • Would you wear a duster jacket for warmth in extreme cold?

I know this is a sport section, but this involves winter/cold weather and this section seemed closest to help.

One of my friends is heading to alaska later this year. He has bought himself a fur-lined duster that he is planning to use as his winter coat. I think he is going to need something warmer. Am I wrong?

To elaborate, we live in southern Texas, and the fur lined duster might work.

  • Why does my husband's ear wax smell like chocolate?

My husband has had pain in his right ear for a few months, and today decided to try cleaning his right ear out. The wax was a dark brown, and smelled of tootsie rolls. What could cause this?

  • What do you need with the Wii, really?

Okay, my husband and I are going to be getting a Wii this week.

I know that the Wii has a million and seven different kinds of accessories for it, but which ones are absolutely necessary and which ones are a waste?

If it helps, we don't plan on playing "Mario Kart" racig style games yet, nor do we really have much an interest in "Wii-Fit." (at least right now, anyway).

I already know we will need a second controller/nunchuck.

Will I need any special adaptors to hook it up to my home internet (we do not have wi-fi at home, just DSL.)

  • Can military personnel confiscate film?

I was having a discussion with a friend of mine regarding photography and laws regarding pictures.

Can military personnel (Foreign or US) on private property confiscate a press photographer's film, with no warrant?

I'm not talking about "on post" restricted areas, I'm talking about "just a picture of some body's house" and also including some people.

I am former military myself, and to my understanding, any place where photography is restricted is required, by law, to have big giant "DO not photograph" signs, and to be blocked off by some sort of fencing.

Also, confiscation I think requires a warrant, to my knowledge.

  • Why is God of War's final battle glitchy?

We've only had our PS2 for about 6 months- we got it for Christmas and one of the first games we bought was God of War II. The game plays beautifully on our system, and right after beating it, my husband bought God of War, brand new. He played the game on normal level, all the way to the end, and when he tried to fight Ares, the game freezes.

It glitches in the family end cut scene. The first glitch is the "opposing circle button mash mini-game."

He put the game away and came back to it, months later, and it is still doing it.

He can't fight the God of War. My husband claims that Ares is afraid of him ;).

Any way we can fix this, or should we get a different disk?

  • Which animated Disney "Villain" is the "Best" villain ever?

Think about this before you answer. I am looking for animated badguys/gals, (Nothing from live action films). I also want to consider the First film in a series only (Not any of the ubiquitous 'straight to DVD sequals' that accompany many Disney animated films.

Which Disney Villain did the best job of just being a villain- (best motive, best means to carry out the evil plan, etc).

Don't just list the baddies name- tell me why!

  • How can I help my dog get over her fear of our bathroom?

My miniature schnauzer is 16 weeks old (just under four months). For some reason, she is frightened of our bathroom.

She will not come to us if we call her from the bathroom. If I have her in the bathroom while I am in the bath (without her) she crowds the bathroom door shaking- like a fear of Certain Death. The same thing with my husband- if he brings her into the bathroom to watch her while he does anything in there, she gets completly scared.

She is worse when we bathe her. We don't want our little dog getting frightened everytime the water runs and everytime we have to bathe her. Any ideas what we can do to make it easier?

  • Does "Fixing" a dog change the temperament?

Okay, I know that it is a good thing to spay and neuter your dog, and as soon as my puppy is old enough to do so, we are going to have her fixed. That was never a question.

I have seen temperaments in male cats change after being being neutered (2 of my brother's cats became more docile while the third actually became more dominant).

has anyone ever seen a personality change on a dog after being fixed?

  • How can I tell my dad his wife ruined my wedding?

Okay, I have been married 3 1/2 years. When we married, we travelled to the state where my father and his wife were living to have the ceremony. Throughout the whole week of my wedding, his wife did little else than act like a diva, attempt to usurp "Mother of the Bride" from my own mom, and ruin my reception. She arranged for the wrong person to do the ceremony, fired the photographer, changed the location of my ceremony three times (Though we did win out and keep it at the original location) and showed up 1 hour late.

The whole time, my father supported his wife instead of saying, "What do you want, daughter?" I used to be 'Daddys little girl' now I barely talk to the man.

Because the "Best day of my life" was a frigin disaster.

(My father was supposed to do all these arrangements. We married in his state because he was paying for it.)

I have been diagnosed with both conditions and do not know if problems I am having are related to one or the other: bad headaches and fatigue, mostly.

  • How can I stop my puppy from chewing on my hair?

I have an 11 week old mini schnauzer (an only dog) who cannot seem to stop chewing on my (or my husband's) hair.

Every time we sit down she jumps herself into a position to pull on our hair. I can't exactly get up to get her a more appropriate toy when she is tangled up in my hair!

Is there something I can use to make my hair an unattractive chew-toy?

  • 10 week old Puppy with coccidia?

OKay, we have a 10 week old mini schnauzer who has been wormed since 2 weeks old and started her shots before we took her home (at 9 weeks old). The day after we brought her home, we took her to the vet who decided to restart her worming/shots-- just to be on the safe side (she is getting Strongid T for this). He found earmites (which are now almost completely gone). He also ran a stool sample test and found coccidia (we are treating with Albon).

When she first came home, she was doing really well on housebreaking. Over the past few days she has been having more accidents inside (we are now going outside every hour to prevent accdents).

Since starting Albon she has had softer stool, but tonight I noticed runny stool. I have also visually seen white worms in some of her stool.

Should I worry, or is this just the medicine doing its job?
