    The first time I saw "oge" I presumed it was what the O' stood for. I have had to rethink that supposition since this one also has the O' in the name.

    I have been researching family history and found a list of pardons (circa 1609). I found this gentlemen and (several others) with this name variation and I would appreciate any information you can pass my way.

  • Any experts in British Military Uniforms circa 1815?

    Can anyone give me information about the uniform of the Royal Horse Guards (now known at the Blues and Royals) that fought in the Battle of Waterloo?

    I am particularly interested in finding out about ornamental gorgets, i.e. if the RHG used them and where an officer would have acquired one - was it purchased from a smith that worked for the regiment, etc. From what I understand, they weren't used much after this time.

    If you can point me to any links, I would greatly appreciate it. There was a great site at regiments.org that I was exploring, but has disappeared in the last week. I have also just started scratching the surface at the UK National Archives.
