A very good contact friend of mine has given me the key to activate Office 2007 (pre-installed on the PC) I have created several documents using Works Word Processor.

If I activate Office Suite 2007 will this override Works Word Processor but much more importantly will I be able to access those documents I have created using the free Works Word Processor. I need them almost on a daily basis.

Why does code error 403 appear for one person and not another?

I sent a web site to a friend of mine in China as I thought it would be helpful to him in marketing and selling a product for his company. The site is http://www.sourcingmap.com/ - a site I recently used.

The information was sent by Yahoo IM but when my friend clicked on it the following came up

When I clicked on http://www.sourcingmap.com/ via the IM I had immediate access.

Can somebody please explain why I in the UK can access it and my friend in China cannot but gets error code 403.

I believe the site is Chinese so I cannot see politics entering into the equation.

I have been sending individual photographs. I would like to put them into a folder, zip them and send as an attachment. I do not know how to zip. Is there a limit on the amount of data to be contained in the folder?

Why is it that I'm notified 4 days after my contacts have posted a question. Does anybody have the answer?

I read on Yahoo news today that there is a rampant virus known as Conficker, Kido or Downadup circulating. A few days ago advice was given to ensure Microsoft's MS08-067 known as KB958644 patch was installed.

Apparently Microsoft have done a good job in protecting home PCs but how can I check to ensure this patch has been downloaded on my PC?

Can anybody please recommend word processing software by way a free download? My PC is now defunct and it's laptop replacement has come preloaded with microsoft's full suite of Office 2007. I'm not prepared to pay over £444.00 (more than the cost of the laptop) to unlock it for software I have no intention of using.

My needs are basic, just printing out letters and documents.

I have indicated that I wish to be alerted when my contacts post a question. I have in the past been alerted but for some this is now now happening. I used to be alerted by e-mail but I only get to know now when I open my profile. I have checked my profile and the box wishing to be alerted hs been ticked. Does anybody have an answer please?

I have 2 GB Ram but the meter always shows it running at approx 51% - 60% even when the PC is idle and no applications are running.

The Hard Disc runs between 0.2% and 80% when running applications.

What is causing the RAM to be running at that capacity when nothing should be in it?

I have version 3.6.0.24B of Skype. A friend of mine has version 3.8.0.115. My friend can view my video on her web cam and although she is instructed to "start video" I do not receive it.

a) Do the two versions have to be the same to send and receive?

b) If I download the latest version will it overide my existing version or will I have to Uninstall it first?

c) In either event will Skype recognise my existing account with them? I tend to use skype rather than my mobile as its much cheaper. I have an automatic top up facility in place with them when the credit drops below a certain level.

d) My webcam is a Logitech Orbit AF. Although hers is a Logitech it is a slightly cheaper model. Do both cameras have to be the same?

How exactly is communication by broadband distributed down telephone lines?

I saw a programme yesterday of a farmer in Cornwall who does not have access to Broadband because he lives too far away from the Telephone Exchange. He has to use dial up and it took 40 minutes to get connected. His friend just 2 miles away and with broadband had almost instant connection. Exactly how and why distance affect speed, connections and availabilty of Broadband?

If world wide telephone calls can be connected almost instantaneously why cannot broadband connections?

The programme indicated that BT are not prepared to invest in improvements to what is now essentially a public service. What is required to improve the service and make broadband available to all?

Why is that Broadband speed is not affected through cable connections?

The only web sites I've been using has been Yahoo. I've no end of anti-virus software running. Twice today the PC suddenly shut down. Earlier on tonight Skpe did not recognise me. Had to reset the computer back a few days. Ran some antivirus software 10 minutes ago. Computer shut down and the PC did not recognise the Platronics (Sype) UBS receiver. What is wrong? I can only conclude that I'm picking up viruses from Yahoo Questions. Is this possible? I'm absolutley fuming and hopping mad. I'm in the mood to get a sledge hammer and beat the bastard to pieces.

I have SpyDoctor and other anti virus software installed. Spybot is one and is set to run at 1.00 a.m. each morning. Quite often a message comes up to say there are for example 4 threats and 27 infections.

What are these threats and infections and how do they co-relate to Viruses? The threats are always classified as low.

Is there any sofware available to run in real time in the background to eliminate them as they occur? I have real time anti-virus software running.

I have Disc cleaner scheduled to run at 3.00 a.m. each morning and after its done its job it turns the PC off.

Any informative advice would be greatly appreciated.

I am trying to download software from a CD but I get a message "Internal Error 2738" What does this mean and what can I do do rectify it?

I received a pdf file by way of an attachment and was asked if I wanted to download it which I did, and then to scan it and save to PC which I did. I can't find it. How do I locate and open?
