  • Financial mathematics and economics?

I'm trying to find an interesting major. I liked physics in high school. I completed 3 AP courses in it. I didn't like engineering in my first year. I like to solve problems using math and stuff like that. Is economics and math finance an interesting field, are there new theories being developed? Or is it just static with most things mechanical or do you have to solve problems? Don't care much about money. Thought about physics but I think I exhausted most of it in high school and the remaining concepts are to abstract and strange for me.

  • Can a Genotype have more then 2 genes associated with it?

I know every genotype is made up of 2 genes from the mother and father but are these 2 genes fixed for every genotype? For example if hair color were determined by only one genotype (i don't think it is but just example) then all the colors would be represented by a gene and you could have many different genotypes like brown/red Black/brown ect. Therefore the genotype would have more then 2 genes associated with it (it would have all the colors). Does this happen or is every phenotype like this just a combination of several genotypes.

  • Is changing you calorie intake the best way to loose weight fast?

Im 6ft 5 and 250 lbs and started dieting 5 days ago. I started with a low calorie diet around 1200 my bmr is like 2200. I know this sort of diet can be harmful in the long run and slow your metabolism. However I heard this takes 2 to 3 weeks of low calories to take affect. So my question is if I can do 1200 calories for like 2 weeks and then like 2000 calories for a few months and keep going back to a low calorie diet without ever letting it slow my metabolism by limiting my time with it. I've lost 12 pounds already with this low calorie diet and I would of only lost around 2 pounds with a recommended calorie diet.

  • Valid or invalid argument?

If you send a minimum order of 10$ to a mail order house, then you can return a sweepstakes entry coupon enclosed with the catalog.

If you return the coupon and your order is one of the first 1000 orders then you have a chance of winning 100$. You win 100 dollars in the sweepstakes. Therefore, you must have sent a minimum order of 10$

    to the mail order house.

I said it wasnt valid because i coudnt deduce any conclusion from the premises but i dont know if that is right please explain with math symbols.
