What is the equation for thermal expansion?
I have been given two equations from my tutor and I don't know which one to use and when, quite often i get the wrong answer. Are these the same equations and am I just solving them incorrectly?
V=Vo [1+β*deltaT]
and
V=Vo [β*deltaT]
Where; V = volume
Vo= initial volume
β = coefficient of volumetric expansion
DeltaT= change in temperature
Thanks
