  • Domestic battery case. Looking into relocating out of state. Worried about custody and kidnapping charges. State of Florida?

Hello and thanks for reading. I found myself in a difficult position.

To make a long story short, on August 27th, 2014 I was the victim of domestic violence. I am a young mother (22) and have a one year old son. His father and I (unmarried but live together and on a lease) were arguing the night prior. Things escalated quickly and it resulted to him putting me in a choke hold and trying to strangle me. My son was in our home and hanging on his leg while everything was going on. I called the police, pressed charges and he got a felonly (domestic battery by strangulation) He is currently on house arrest at his mother's residence with a stay away order. He will appear in court September 26th.

My question is... Can I relocate to Colorado legally? My mother and ALL immediate family is there. My job (bank teller) is transferable and I have a wonderful family willing to lend a hand for support.

I talked to the state attorney this morning and have a few appointments lined up in the next few days. No one has gave me a certain answer yet.

    Can I get kidnapping charges?

What is the consequences of leaving and the worst case scenario. Any advice even remotely relating is apperciated.

Im located in Florida and would like to relocate to Colorado. Thank you so much in advance!

  • Son's father not keeping up with bills. but he is on the lease. Can I get him out?

    Hello all.

I am currently living with my son's father. We are both on the lease and all the bills are in my name. As of late, things have got pretty bad.

He has been short on rent and lied about paying bills. Last month , our utilities were shut off because he didn't pay his half. I had to pay his half and a reconnect fee. Now, he doesn't have a dime for rent.

I've come to the conclusion that he's being impossible for no reason, but, I don't want to give him the satisfaction. I just want him out. I know it's not worth taking him to court but is there anyway I could just get him to leave? We have been living there for 2 years. I can afford to be here by myself. Please help! Anything at this point! Im desperate!

  • So sad about going baby to work (Baby is 6 weeks old)?

I have to go back to work in two weeks. I'm so upset and have been crying all day. My sister will be in our home with the baby. She used to work with special needs children but that doesn't make me feel any better. I feel like such a horrible mom for leaving him so young. I'm so afraid that it will affect our bond.

Any advice or stories would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  • How do you clean chicken gizzards?

Sorry if this seems a little funny but I'm attempting to cook them. I've never ever seen them until now lol. So, by cleaning them, they do mean running them under water right?? Or am I missing something here >.<

Also, I'm soaking them in milk (1%) instead of buttermilk to tenderize because that's all I had. That 'ought to do the trick ehhh?

    Tips? Thanks!

  • Baby blues or post partum depression?

Hi everyone! I had a baby boy a week and 3 days ago. Since then, I'm constantly worrying about being a good mom.

When I clean my house, I feel so guilty. (I'm a major clean freak) I feel like I should be spending that time with my baby. If I don't clean it, I feel like I'm forcing him to live in filth.

When he wakes up in the middle of the night to eat and get changed, I give him kisses and talk to him but when its very early in the morning (3,4,5am) I feed him, change him cuddle him a little and put him in the bassinet to fall asleep by himself because I am so tired.

I failed at breast feeding. I still do pump because he won't latch but he is now getting more formula than breast milk.

I have to return to work in a few weeks and feel terrible about that. I feel like I'm choosing finances over spending valuable time with my son.

Is this normal? Everything I do I feel guilty about! Someone please help... Any advice/ personal experince welcomed. Thanks in advance :)

  • New mother... Failing at breast feeding and beating myself up?

I had my soon one week ago and tried nursing from the first feed. He had/has problems latching, so, I tried the nipple shield. It worked for a day or two but he was always hungry because he wasn't getting enough milk. Since he didn't latch correctly, it became extremely painful, and I became extremely swollen, bruised and bloody. He was getting more blood than milk. The nurse suggested I bottle and breast feed. Well, now he is getting more formula than breast milk. I have taken classes, had someone specifically come in and latch him, watched videos, read books etc... Nothing worked! I can usually pump anywhere from 4-6oz a day. He won't latch AT ALL anymore. I feel like I'm only a week in and already failing as a mother. Any advice?

  • How do single mothers possibly make it?

I'm not a single mother, but I want to know how do they possibly do things by themselves?

For the ones that live on their own and pay rent, electric, child needs etcc...

All of that on top of the child itself.

I guess this is more of a rant than a question. It just seems impossible.

  • Any breastfeeding mommies out there that can offer advice?

I am 21 weeks pregnant and have decided I definitely have to try breastfeeding the baby. I have a few questions though.

How long does it take to pump milk into a bottle? (It just seems so time consuming and may take hours.)

Do you recommend a certain breast pump?

If you went back to work, how did you mange breastfeeding on top of a busy schedule?

  • How picky is/was your baby about formula?

So, I am 21 weeks pregnant and found an awesome deal on formula. I can get the Walgreen's store brand formula for $.49 a can. It is an 8 ounce can. Today I bought 71 cans and spent under $35!! They don't expire until 2015. I definitely plan on partially breastfeeding my baby since I will be going back to work, but, fully breastfeeding would be ideal. I just have absolutely no idea what to expect.

I figured if the baby doesn't take to the formula, or if I never use it, I can always donate it to those in need.

If you found a deal like this, would you get more?

How picky was your baby about formula?

    Thanks so much in advance.

  • Have any of you got a false postive for a down syndrome test?

So, my doctor sent me to do the lab, they did the blood work and a few days ago I got the results. They told me today that there is a 1 in 31 chance that my baby has down syndrome. She went to further explain that 1 in 31 also means 3% which confused me a little. A 3% chance doesn't seem like to much of a cause for concern to me.

They did an ultrasound (I FOUND OUT I'M HAVING A BOY!!!!) They told me that everything looks like it is developing normally and they haven't found anything physically wrong thus far. They took some more blood and now I have to wait for those results.

Has this happened to anyone before? All answers are appreciated and helpful. Thank you so much in advance!

  • Is it safe to take acetaminophen and UTI medication at the same time while pregnant?

    Hello all.

I'm 18 weeks, and 2 days pregnant. I have a wisdom tooth growing and terrible pain in my right side. Last night I had to go to the emergency room because of the pain on my right side. They told me I have a UTI and sent me home with a prescription. I have taken 2 does so far, getting ready for my third. I'm miserable! My tooth and side hurts so bad. I have not ate anything all day despite the desire to.

I am on Macrobid 100mg for the UTI.

I am taking my prenatal vitamins.

Is it safe to take just one tylenol?

Please don't tell me to call the doctor. They have been closed for 2 hours. I don't see anything related to this on the web.

  • 18 weeks pregnant, and serious pain in my right side. What can I take for pain?

My right side is in extreme pain. Last night I went to the emergency room and they told me I have a UTI. They gave me some medicine and sent me on my way. I contacted my OBGYN and he said if the pan doesn't go away at all within 2-3 days then come in. The doctor at the hospital told me once I start taking the medicine, it should start working right away. Its not and I'm feeling worse!!

I haven't took anything for pain my entire pregnancy. What can I take?

Has anyone ever had this problem?

I need to go back to work tomorrow. Thanks in advance.

  • What should I expect when I bring my baby home from the hospital?

    I'm currently 17 weeks pregnant.

Its really starting to sink in on what life will be like when I bring the baby home. I think of course majority of first time moms think about breaking in all the baby stuff and showing off the cute new baby. BUT.... What should I really expect?

-I have loads of diapers, wipes, and bottles.

-I'm paying my rent up for 4 months in advance to ease my mind although my boyfriend is not taking off of work.

-I will have loads of baby clothes ranging from 0-12 months.

-I have a $250 walmart gift card for any last minute needs.

    - I'll have a swing, bouncer, crib, pack and play, changing table, travel system etc...

AHHHH! No where sells extra hands. Lol.

So, is there any tips you have? How you coped with sleep, finances, baby etc...

How long can I expect to be sore? Did getting out of the house help you any?

Thanks so much in advance! :)

  • I'm pregnant and want a new job, but worried about maternity leave and discrimination?

I'm going to be 16 weeks on Monday. I currently work about 32 hours a week. I'm also taking classes fulltime.

I'm in no position to quit my job, but, after working here for some years I'm really at my breaking point. There is childish drama everywhere. You hear about it everyday. I'm soooooo sick of it!

I'm thankful to have a job, the pay isn't bad, and I have some paid vacation to cover a portion of my maternity leave BUT I really want out. I don't want this type of stress while pregnant.

Have any of you been hired while pregnant?

Do you think most employers actually follow the discrimination laws?

What about maternity leave? Has anyone only been working a few months and took a maternity leave?

  • 10 weeks pregnant and not feeling excited at all?

I don't know if it is the hormones or what, but, I just can't get excited about this baby. This is my third pregnancy.

1st- premature labor and baby did not make it.

    2nd- misscarriage at 8 weeks.

I already have diapers, wipes etcc... I'm just not excited. I keep thinking that my timing was off and I made a huge mistake. Can I really parent? Goodbye to sleep, extra money etcc.. I work 45 hours a week and I'm tired as it is without a baby.

Did anyone else feel this way?

    I'm just feeling so blahh.
