Insurer won't drop child from policy, wife got in small accident last year, what happens if I change insurer?
I have 2 issues. 1) My wife got in a small accident last year where she bumped into someone in front of her after a light changed at an intersection. The person in front of her started to move but suddenly put on the brakes and my wife hit her at about 5 miles per hour. That turned into a medical claim which has not yet been resolved.
2) Our daughter turned 16 and got her drivers license, and our insurance went way up.(obviously). But she changed to a new school and had to live with her father to go to the school. She got her own car and has insurance with her father's insurance company. Now, our insurance company will not take her off our policy. (been 5 months now). Geico said we have to supply them with a bill with her new address that has her name on it. I told them they are crazy to think a 16 year old would have a BILL with her name on it.
What will happen to the claim if we change our insurance company? Will Geico still have to cover the claim since it happened while we still have insurance with them? Or can they drop the claim back in our laps?
