  • Do you thi k my horse has potential as a show jumper?

She is a rescue, we got her a couple months ago, she was 250lns and had not been ridden for 3 years. When we got her I jumped her 2'6 like ot was nothing. She practically stepped over it. She is 9 years old and is 15hh. Apparently she would jump the 5ft fence to get to the other sideof the field. When you ride her and get her going she gets frisky. Obviously my are is not going to be a grand prix jumper and I know that but do you think she will be able to jump 4ft? She is very strong and muscular. She has lost a lot of weight since we got her, we have been working on flexibility and are going to start jumping in October.

    Here is her picture :

Do you think she will be able to be surprise people? We are going to take it slow and go up 3 inches a month, we are working on fitness and do not jump everyday, she gets fed joint supplements. She has no health issues and I completely sound.

    Thank you

  • Is this too much for my horse?

She is a quarter horse but jumps like a Dutch warm blood, people tell me quarter horses are not good for jumping but I think that's a stereotype, if I ride my horse 4-5 times a week is it safe to jump her 2 times a week (small) then once a week (medium) then maybe a couple times a month large or before shows? I don't want to over work her lets just say I ride her 20times a month (average) is it safe is I jump her 10times a month medium size and maybe 2 Times a month large?

    Thank you:)

    Ps please no harsh comments

  • Does this sound like a good horse?

Ok I rescued a 15hh quarter horse, she is 9, when we got her (couple months ago) she was 250lbs overweight and had not been ridden in 3 years we jumped 2ft6 like it was nothing! She practically stepped over it! Apparently she was was the cheeky one of the heard and she jumped the 5ft fence! So do you think my mare has jumping potential? Not grand prix but in one years time when she has she'd the weight and got fit and balanced do you think we could be possibly showing 1.20m? She jumpes

Ike she has a rocket up her ***.

    Thank you :)

    Please no nasty comments

Ps she has no health issues, never foundered and she is sound.

She has lost some of the weight since.

  • Do you think my horse will be a good jumper?

Ok she is a rescue. When we got her there was an instant connection, she had not been ridden for 3 years and was 250lbs overweight. The very frat day I got her I took her cross country, she jumped 2ft6 like it was nothing! And that was when she had not been ridden and was very fat! Once she has regained balance, lost weight and is physically fit, do you think she will have good jump to her? I know she won't be grand prix but I want her to be able to jump high. No harsh answers please!

    Think you:)

Ps she has no health problems and has never foundered. She has lost most of the weight we are not jumping yet because she is working on turning and circling. We still jump a bit but not all the time.

See how they are different from normal GP saddles. Growing up in England I always had one, do they sell them in Canada?

    Thank you:)

  • What level rider am I?

I have been riding for many years (not sure how many, don't know how old I was when I started). I have fallen off too many times to count, I can easily show 1.20m (obviously on a horse that can show that). I can push a horse to its max. I always get chosen to break someones horse or ride green ones. I have a good seet. I can jump high (iam looking to buy a 1.30m horse as I feel I'm ready). Iam 14 and almost 15.

    Thank you:)

    Sorry I can't post a video.

  • Do you think a friesian horse is good for me?

I am about 5ft3-5ft4 and don't weigh a lot. I have Tourette's, I am medicated and go to therapy so I can con troll myself, I also do drama so I am relaxed and used to being in front of a crowd. I sometimes don't twitch at all, when I do it's not bad maybe my head or my hand, not that noticeable. I have a quarter horse I use for jumping and fun games because she is fast and loves it. But I want to get into dressage and my quarter horse doesn't place easily, do you think a friesian is a good horse? I am leggy and seem to fit a big horse nicely. I need somthing with a strong mouth so my ticks don't seem to bother the horse. I rode a show pony and sometimes she would get confused with me because she was trained on such a soft rein. What do you think of a friesian for me? If not please can you suggest another breed similar to the friesian.

    Thank you:)

I am 15 and have ridden my whole life and always owned horses, so I am quite a capable rider, also I would work with a trainer and find he horse that I feel comfy on.

  • Do you think this horse can jump? Give an estimated height?

She is a rescue, she was overweight when we got her. The lady could not care for them so they where. Left to eat themselves to death. Well anyways I took er cross country and jumped her 2ft and 2'3 - 2'6 stadium, she was 250lbs overweight, had founders in the past, had not been ridden in 3years, new rider, unfit when I jumped her this and she just hopped over them with ease. She is a 15hh quarter horse, bearing in mind I jumped her when she was very, very unfit. with time and proper training and conditioning do you think this horse will be a good jumper. And also pleas give an estimat of what she might be able to jump in 1 years time.

    Thank you:)
