  • Recently adopted Mustang has milk in one teat?

About three months ago I was given a Mustang. She had been in a pasture with no grass, was well on her way to being starved.

Well, now she is in great health. When I got her she had one swollen teat. She would not let me touch it, nor any other part of her body, she was not gentled at all. She got to be more than I could handle so I sent her to a friend of a friend that gentles horses. He did a fantastic job. Such a good job that when I got her home I was able to examine the teat.

It was not at all hard, and then was I ever surpised when it milked out! No dicoloration, no heat. Some clear some milky. I milk her out every few days. She had not had any in the udder itself or the other teat.

I talked to a friend who is a vet and she said that they had a horse once that did the same thing, that it wasn't anything.

My other horses aren't due to be vetted until next month. I plan on having her checked out then, but was wondering if anyone else has seen this.

  • Grooming Question .... discolored beard/mustache?

I have been watching the show "Groomers Have It", a reality show for groomers. On the second show several of the groomers lost points because they didn't get the beard white on their dog. What is the real secret to getting out the stains? The whitening shampoo I use won't do it. Is there really a way to get results in one grooming session?
