  • Wedding Reception Dance...?

Curious to know if anyone is familiar with a dance not terribly common at wedding receptions; it involves two lines of people facing each other. The pair at the end of the lines walk down the people-made aisle and do their own little jig..They end of up at the end of the lines and 'fall in', then the next couple proceeds.

I realize this is a terrible description...

  • Balsa wood glider toy?

Do you remember these dime-a-dozen toys? I have been looking for them in bulk (buying more than two at a time) and I couldn't believe the prices that these online places want! Has anyone seen them in a store lately for a price that wouldn't cost you a left arm and leg? Where did you find them? Thank you.

I have checked with oriental trading and they only have foam gliders. I prefer wood for a particular project with these.

  • Wedding crafts, floral, invitations, etc?

First of all, thank you for looking! I would like to hear your ideas. My wedding is a fair time away, but I'm doing some preliminary planning ahead of time while I still have time on my hands :) First of all, what did you do of your own? Did you make your own invitations? Use wood veneer? Cardstock and a paper punch? Did you do your own favors and programs? Centerpieces? Cake? Did you do your own bouquets and boutonnieres? Real or silk flowers? How many people did you find most helpful in planning this? How many days ahead of time did you prep? Did you find that what you did was worth your time? I hear that brides-to-be begin to feel the crunch...I've read so many books about crafts, including wedding crafts, but I'd like to hear from you. Working with a real budget, real family members on a realistic schedule. Different techniques? Did you have fun?

In case it's helpful, I am hoping it will be wedding and reception on the smaller side.

  • Connecticut Reception?

My fiance is from CT. I'm hoping to have the wedding and reception in his home state, but I have several questions. From my observations and word of mouth, it seems that a formal sit-down dinner IS the reception. I see all of these articles about $75 per person...etc. Where I am from, it is not so much the meal as it is dancing and fellowship. These two things are very important to me. Where can I go and what can I do to accomplish this? Preferably without spending a fortune. I suppose it is in our favor that we would like to have a late morning ceremony and an early afternoon reception? Thanks in advance for your input! :)

  • Wedding Venue Location?

I'm getting married in a year and a half (good Lord willing :) and still have not decided on a location. My family and I are from Indiana; my fiance and his family reside in Connecticut. I am torn because I do love CT, and would like to convenience his family. On the other hand although my mom will not say it, she would be hurt if I had the wedding so far from home. I've tried a pros and cons list, such a joke! :) I would appreciate any thoughts, and thanks for your time!

  • Engagement Ring Metal?

A few days ago, I made an acquaintance and I couldn't help but notice her engagement ring. The metal was a beautiful dark gray, almost like tungsten. I've never seen anything like it before, and I was just curious if anyone might know what this metal could be? Thanks in advance!

  • I want to be an AGI, what steps do I take?

I would like to get a certificate to be an AGI. I have my private pilot certificate, and endorsements to take my Instrument and Commercial written. I know that is the first step. What next? Would I be restricted to teaching at 141 schools only? I do not have a CFI, nor intend to in the near future ($). Thanks in advance! :)

  • If I trained in a low wing aircraft, can I fly a high wing?

I want to take my mom up for her birthday, but all (2) of the FBO's that surround us only rent out the high wing cessna's.
