  • I have a problem with a very good friend, I need help.?

My friend has had mouth cancer, multiple surgeries, facial reconstruction and whatnot, he's a brilliant genius and has the most wit of any person I've ever met. I'm always laughing with him and I have a great time hanging out. Unfortunately he is always severely lacking in confidence because of his looks. His surgeries have caused him to lose all of his teeth, and just a bit of his lip is missing. In all honesty when I look at him I don't see the deformities... I just see him.

He used to date one of my best friends but they broke up. We hung out a lot, but I never saw him as a person to date.

    1. because he used to date my best friend and I would NEVER do that to her and

    2. because sometimes he can get so negative about things I can hardly stand to be around... I don't think I could handle being in a relationship with him.

My problem is, I was just informed that he wants to ask me out really bad. I feel like I'm being guilt tripped into accepting his asking because he doesn't have anyone.... his parents are dead and his sister is a wild child and in jail. He honestly doesn't have any friends (because he says he doesn't want friends), and yet I've had two of his buddies come up and tell me I should date him because I'm the only one he has. He even got to my twin sister (I'm not supposed to know any of this but my twin wanted to let me know) and she was telling me that he was trying to get her to tell me to date him.

I just got out of a 4 year abusive relationship, and this is the first month in those four years that I have been free. I don't want to hurt the poor guy, but I just don't want to date. I feel like if he asks me and I reject him he'll not feel comfortable around me anymore.

I'm not exactly sure what my question is, but do you guys have any advice on this situation?

  • My friend has Tourettes and I was wondering how to make him feel comfortable around me?

I have an amazing friend that is gentle, kind, and quite the people person, but he has Tourettes. He doesn't have the vocalizations like most people misconstrue as the condition, but he does have facial tics. I've known him for so long that I don't even notice it anymore... it's just a part of him, but the other day I was hanging out with him and he caught me looking at him while he was having an episode.... I wasn't staring, I had just been glancing in that general direction. it broke my heart when he said, sadly, "I wish you didn't have to see that." He chuckled nervously and turned away from me.

I've had the biggest crush on him forever, but I'd rather be friends than break up what we have, but I was recently informed by one of his friends that he has a crush on me as well... I think he knows that his friend told me, but he pretends he doesn't... but ever since then he's been more self conscious around me and more aware of his actions. It's like he doesn't want to mess up in case he loses me. (This is my thought process because I think the same way... I don't want to do anything to him that would make us somehow separate).

Anyway, if anyone out there has Tourettes, or knows someone that does, can you please tell me what on Earth I can do to make him understand that I really don't care.... I like him just as he is. I just fear he's moving away from me to shield himself from some kind of rejection he thinks he will receive from me.

Love.... why is it so complicated?

  • What can I expect for my first time?

Well I always heard that the first time for sex is either terribly painful or (like in movies) quite the opposite. My boyfriend and I have been dating for 4 years. His birthday is friday and I decided I should do something special for him and give myself to him as a birthday present. I am 22 years old, and quite hormonally secure. I know some people will have the whole 'wait till marriage' idea and I respect that. But that's just not for me.

So I guess what I am asking is, what can I expect? Will it really hurt? How long will it hurt? Is the whole process painful?

    I just don't know anything....even though I'm 22...

  • Menstrual cycle problems.?

I started my period 6 years ago and I was somewhat regular in the beginning. Then as time went on my period slowed down to where it eventually happened only once a year (And even then I wouldn't consider that a period since it was light and lasted only 2-4 days).

Now just the past 3 months I've had a regular period except for the fact that I get seriously ill with it. At irst I thought it was just acoincidence. I thought it was flu season and I caught something and I just happened to have a period. The second time (last month) I had a period I was once again sick with a 102F temperature. Now this week I was sick with a 103 temperature yesterday and a 102 temp today. But it's not just my temp that goes up. I also throw up constantly and have really bad diarrhea. And when I stand up I feel like I'm going to faint.

(Now I know this sounds a lot like TSS when using tampons, but was sick before I even used tampons this time)

Does anyone else get really REALLY sick on their period oris it just me? Is being sick normal? I'm 19 years old and any adice or help would be appreciated.
