I'm an 18 year old high school student about to graduate and start a new life in Mississippi where I plan to study music and technology. I myself am not religious and am always searching to help others that have helped me via this site or by any other means.
How long does a penicillin injection take to cure secondary syphilis?
I suspect some time this past summer I got syphilis. I didn't know this until I randomly asked for an std because of a circular rash I've been having. I came back negative for everything other than syphilis. I went to the infectious disease office and received 2 penicillin G injections and he said I'd be cured. I asked him how long it would take for the skin rash to go away. I don't remember what he said exactly, if he said the rash would be gone in 2 weeks or if he said it would start to go away in 2 weeks. It is January 22, and on the 24 it will have been a month since I got the injections. My question is, I still have this rash, although it has seemed to significantly fade out, but I still have some sores which don't itch but they are not seeming to go away. I also am seeing new rash sites pop up, though they are very faint, and some seem to go away shortly after surfacing while others seem to have become more apparent but more faint. A few of the place that were really bad are still there, but as I said, faint. How long does this take to completely get rid of this skin rash? My dr said to get retested in 3 months but I feel the shot should have killed off this bacteria and gotten rid of these skin spots by now. My blood test I was told was "1 to 128" I don't know what that means but I was told it was indicative of secondary syphilis. So I'm waiting very anxiously for my dr apt on the 31 to ask to get another blood test, because I can't get a shot without knowing if I really need it or not. I've been really paranoid over the past month. i've also gotten really sick to probably just a bad upper respiratory infection or something but that seems to be gone now, I've got really bad post nasal drip, and so I just want to know if I'm expecting too much too quickly or if I have a legitimate concern. Thanks.
9 AnswersSTDs8 years agoDo I really look that unattractive?
I've had a really hard time getting people to befriend me. Though I'm not told outright, I know it is because of the way I look. I asked someone to be honest with me and tell me what features about my face are unattractive. I was told that I have high cheek bones and that if I did drag, I'd pass as a drag queen (which I'm not) For the record, I've got congenital glaucoma, in other words I'm blind, my eyes do not look normal. I personally don't like the way I look. My hair line I think is too high and I have a set back jaw line. Please give me your commentary. Here is the link to my picture http://www.hurstaudioproductions.com/me.jpg I don't like my eyebrows either. It's a difficult world of sighted people. The benefit to being blind is that I don't judge people on their looks, I judge them on their personality. This is one main factor why I've not found anyone that I am able to settle down with it's all about the sex....an oh well, I digress.
3 AnswersSingles & Dating9 years ago18 year old male just learning about details of circumsision?
Hello everyone. I have somewhat of an odd story to explain that has happened over the passed day.
As I stated in my question heading I am 18 and I am also legally blind and have glaucoma. For those of you not familiar with this, basically I can't see anything/I'm blind. Wednesday the teacher gave us a topic to quick look up and do a presentation on. While I'm not gong to go into detail about the topic, it involved the circumsision of males as well as FGM.
While I didn't think much of it, Today, I had to present. This is where things started to get interesting. Me and my friend stood up with our macbook and presented on the smart board. When the topic of circumsisioin came up my friend and the teacher kept bringing up points that made me cringe. After about 2 or so minutes I started feeling dizzy and then passed out. Thankfully my friend caught me before I fell and hit my head on something. Next thing I knew I was in my seat.
I learned a lot from our presentatioin and when I left the school to come home (my mother picked me up) I learned that I was circumsized. This really made me feel awful.
If no one knows what actually happens to 2 day old boys I think perhaps I should explain. Circumsision is an extremely painful and yet unnecessary procedure in which most of the foreskin is sliced from the baby penis. The infant is strapped to a table, his legs and arms, and is given a local anasthesia to numb the tip of the penis and the doctor or urologist slices the most sensative part of the organ away.
I'm surprised I wrote that without passing out again. Before Today I didn't realize how much foreskin a male actually has at birth attached to his penis. I kind of understood circumsision as the process of just stitching the foreskin back on the top of the penis such as like a helmet as some call it. I was unaware that one is stripped of skin and some males actually suffer a terrible sex life from this.
Some do this for religious purposes, some do it because the doctor says it is necessary for cleanliness purposes, but I think quite the opposite.. If one has good heigene, there should be no problem.
The moral of my story here is that I feel extremely taken advantage of soncidering
A. I've never seen a normal male organ before.
B. All the details of the torture an infant goes through
C. All the preconceived ideas that females find it unattractive and the heigene issues.
I did not realize how much skin I actually had severed from my body. I feel embarrassed, ashamed and taken advantage of and am seriously contemplating getting surgery to grow back or some how reclaim my foreskin, all of it.
One should never take any part of anyone's body that is unnecessary that is not causing any harm.
Ijust feel helpless that I probably won't get to know what a normal organ feels like all do to religion and my mom's side. It is painful to first pass out in school do to the grotesque details of third world countries and how they treat their teenagers and that we do it here almost the same way. It is seriously like torture.
I've read online the procedure to obtain your foreskin is between 8 and 20 grand. I've also read there is manual restoration of the foreskin.
I am a mental mess right now that I have discovered this at my age. And even though I know that over half fo the men in this country have had their part circumsized I just feel I've been taken advantage of for no good reason.
Does anyone have any advice for me?
9 AnswersMen's Health1 decade agomy mother is in cronic pain and I'm unsure how to help?
Hi. I am an only child living with my mother. I am legally blind and my mom is an amputee. She's been through hell and back but I'll get right to the point. She was just in the hospital a year ago for a brain absess, however because of laying in bed for so long, she developed a blood clot that travelled from her back to her right knee. She had her left leg amputated just above the knee because of an F up a doctor did. So for just about a year now, this blood clot is stuck behind her right knee. I don't know if doctors are ignoring this or if they don't understand the severity of her pain. Tonight I'm a little bit more concerned then usual because she uses patches, however she has none and wouldn't be able to get any until the 13th of this month. No other pills will even come close to touching the pain, not even perkaset. And only certain patches will help, however these patches will work for a short period of time even though the packaging says they work for 2 or 3 days at a time. She burns through them like water.
Now let me just add she is not abusing them, I know this, and should not be of any concern to any answerer. Her family doctor is the only person that can prescribe anything but she is a pain to get a hold of. I'm getting extremely frustrated here.
She has gone to see doctors like her hemotologist and cartiologist which both say if they removed the blood clot that she'd probably bleed to death. I personally think they are full of ***. First of all, people have vain replacements all the time. For her, her vain in her leg is as thick as sausage. Why can't they take a vain from her arm or other top part of her leg and replace it with that one. I just can't stand doctors. She's has health problems all around and while I don't feel like explaining the entire situation I'm at a loss. It is taking a toll on me along with all the other *** I have to deal with on a daily basis at school (it's not like they make it comfortable hell no).
She's been to the hospital several times and I just want her to be free of pain. Can anyone suggest anything for her to do, or better yet, I would appreciate any references to doctors or if anyone would like to talk to her please let me know. If anyone wants the full story on me and her please contact me privately or just leave an answer here stating so and I will give you my personal email address.
Her and I have had very bad experiences with doctors all around and do not trust them. Some care, and some could really give a ***. I need someone to help me help her or help her.
We live in Montgomery Pennsylvania and will be moving as soon as I graduate, which will be in about 3 months, in mid june. She will not have the full access, well I shouldn't say full access, to drugs or at least the patches down there as she does up here. We're going to move to mississippi and her goal is to be well by the time we move. We are moving because of her health and because we will be closer to family. I want to see her improve and be a better person but she is in pain, miserable and her health overall is not the best.
I'm really despirae for help here.
3 AnswersOther - Diseases1 decade agoFirst time drinking wine, how far did I go?
On new years eve, I decided that I'd drink some wine. My mom agreed to buy me some as she knows I won't over do it. Normally every so often I'll have 1 or 2 wine coolers for dinner which really all they are are fruit drinks. However, she had also purchased some Blue Nun, a white wine. During the course of the night, I continued to talk on skype and around 10 started drinking the BN out of the bottle. I had been on skype while my friend monitored me. Once I began drinking about 10 minutes in I had not felt anything so continued to sip the wine until about half the bottle was gone. I told my friend this and he immediately told me to put it away, which I did. At this point I've had 2 wine coolers and half a bottle of blue nun. around 1 AM I hit my breaking point laughing my butt off. I was laughing so hard I started crying, which I never ever do. My hands started going numb and speech was a bit slurred but not all that much. I was quite wobbly and could hardly play guitar. I want to know, and I presume this will be subjective, if I had a buzz or if I was borderline drunk. Hands, mouth/feet started going numb and thankfully I stopped before I relized it was too late. I am planning on doing it again, but want to know if I was drunk or if I was merely buzzed. I would like to know this so I can benchmark myself and so I'll know to not go passed that point. Afterwards I still felt mildly dizzy after that for a few days which concerned me. But I must say I'm 100 lbs and it was my first time, so I suppose I should expect that...Thanks for any comments.
