  • My 1 month old is very vocal?

    My 1 month old is very vocal. He makes a lot of noises that sound like he's trying to talk already (goo's, giggles, grunts, shrieks, etc.) and will respond to you when you speak to him, like he's trying to have a conversation.

    Even his cries have developed more individual vocal sounds.

    Is this normal for such a young baby, or should I be concerned?

  • Pain and discomfort - 32 weeks?

    I'm 32 weeks pregnant, and since last night I've been having a pretty constant ache running from my lower back, through my stomach and up to the base of my ribs. I'm feeling very stiff and sore in these area's, and there are no contractions that I can identify (It's my first, so I'm not even sure what contractions feel like.)

    Also, when I move, I get a kind of stabbing pain down below (kinda like someone has kicked me in the you-know-what)

    I know it's probably normal, and I'm just being a wuss, but it's really uncomfortable and unpleasant, and I wanted to get some advice off ladies who've been in my shoes before I panic and rush off to bother the midwife.

    Additional info - I think the baby is already head down (this is the impression my midwife has given me on the last two appointments)

  • What would be the maximum speed?

    What would be the maximum speed of a house spider (European) if dropped from a tenth floor window? Would it reach terminal velocity (if so, how fast would that be?) and would it survive the fall;

    A) If it landed on concrete.

    B) If it landed in a patch of grass.

    P.S. Not planning on actually dropping any spiders out of windows - this is just a hypothetical scenario that I've always wondered about.
