  • getting Into a goat Bussiness?

okay so baisically my dad Really wants to start a dairy but that means no spontainias holidays and alot of committmeant and I'm okay with comittmeant but I can no be there everyday Of my life and know one we know as of yet would be happy two milk a herd of goats, we would also need a buck I'm not to keen on the runting though?

    I already have a weather

    Sannen x alpine.

he was a little rescue and I love him alot.

so I'm basically just giving you a look at what our lives are like ect.

we are home pretty much 24/7

but we have three horses,2 chooks( going to get more and some guinea fowl) we also have 5 fish.

the horses need to be fed morning and night hard feed also there feet add them all up 12 feet need trimming every 6 weeks alot of work.

the chooks need to be let out in the morning and put back in the roost at night and fed.

fish need to be fed every day.

now that is not much but I'm also having to bottle feed my weather at the moment.

among all that we have to do work that supplies money.

we are home most of the time but yes sometimes we have to go even if it is just for two days so we do not want to be tied down.

also we want to put in a vegatable garden and pond and we definalty do not want it devored by some hungry goats.

    so I was wondering

    1. should we get into Wool Goats? and if so what type should it be the pongora goat that I belive is a cross between a angora x a pygmy so perhaps eaiser to fence ? and could leave for up to 2 days if need be without loading a babysitter up with to much.

also I'm not sure about how much you would get from the wool?

    2. a milking dairy, good money? not sure about what breed and not sure about fencing? I do belive its a high priority also I belive we would need a buck? also I belive we would have to sell the kids?

    3. meat goats are out of the qestion we would only rescue them we actually want to make a profite humanly thanks,.

okay so also I have heard that bucks are a nuisance and does on heat will escape but weathers are good?

and the only way to use a weather is through wool for money or meat (we are not doing meat)

but weathers can also jump so go for a smaller breed ?

we are on about seven to ten acers but for the goats only a few acers as the horses need some space and so does the vegatable garden and the pond and the chooks and our place?

so only a few goats are able to be there? so what should it be wool or dairy

what is the eaisiest and what makes the most money

    thank you

  • Good Bit for Re-mouthing ? on hard to turn horse?

my horse tends to be difficult to turn will run through a Fm Bit or anything jointed will only respond to a leverage or ported or straight bar Bit

and still you have to have very heavy hands alot due to not turning and it even came to the case of her trying to run though her Bit so much will trying to turn she pulled againt my pull and the bit came out the other side of her mouth she is a very sweet horse and I hate all this sever stuff on her and I dont want to have it for ever I need to re train her to be responsive and not have a tug of war fight when I want to turn left and she wants to go right or vice versa thank you very much also she will test Bits so I dont know what to do she only goes it straight or leveage bits really well and still it can be a battle though we do have a fairly good ride though she has got away with alot over the past (she was green brocken when I first got her ) I have had her 2 years now and want to be able to have her responsive not just a mInd of her own all the time and running through jointed Bits also please do not suggest thic bits as she really hates thick Bits
