  • Where can I get frames made to order in Australia online?

I have several pictures and artwork that need framing. I want to know if there's a website in Australia where you can enter the measurements of your picture and then they send you a custom-made frame so you can frame and mount the picture yourself? Thanks.

  • Help me think of the name of this kid's book?

It was a really popular book when I was a kid. It's an older book and it's about a house that was built and a family lived in it, then the family all grew up and moved out and a big city sprung up around the house. The skyscrapers towered over the little house and it was sad. The house thought it would be bulldozed down but then someone came and picked the house up with moving equipment and moved it out to the country and the house was happy. Thanks!!!

  • How long should I bake chicken breasts in the oven for?

I have 800g (1.76 lbs) of chicken breasts that I want to bake in the oven. They will be marinating in a sticky moroccan mixture for 6 hours prior. Should I put all the chicken in the roasting dish with the marinate, or just pull out the chicken and put it in by itself? Should I put any butter/oil in the dish so the chicken doesn't stick? How long and at what temp? Thanks.

  • Ebay auction etiquette help?

There was an item for sale for .99c. The seller also had two other auctions for sale, both of which I purchased. I let him know that I was interested in the .99c item (which was ending in 5 days) so I would happily pay for the first two items now, and follow up with payment for the .99 item if I won it. He said not to worry, and to pay for all three items when I was ready.

Well, my baby boy began crying right when the .99 item auction ended! I know I should've put a bid in early but I didn't think I would be gone long. No one else bought it. I emailed the seller apologizing and said I would happily buy it if he re-listed it. So he re-listed it for a BIN price of 3.95 and said there ya go, I hope that's ok!

Should I be angry? I know it's my fault I missed the auction. I still want the item but I can't help feeling peeved. I don't really want to pay $3 more than what I could have, even tho it's my fault.

Advice? $4 isn't a lot of money but it's only for a couple of old photographs. Thanks.

  • How do I say no thank you?

I always get a lovely gift calendar book every year for Christmas from an old friend. But I never, ever need or use it. It costs them quite a bit of money to give it, but I feel guilty never using it. It pretty much just sits on a shelf and gets discarded at the end of the year, only to be replaced by a new one at Christmas. How do I kindly say thanks for the thought, but I don't need it?

  • Help with choosing a doona?

Can anyone tell me what type of doona to get? Should I get feather, polyester, etc etc? What's a good doona for all seasons? Can anyone recommend any brands?

I'd rather have a middle to light-weight doona since we already have an electric blanket for the winter months and we can always throw an extra blanket or quilt on the bed. Thanks for any help!

  • What do I do with this half broken appliance?

I have an old blender/processor thing that looks like this: http://images.bidorbuy.co.za/user_images/982/428Su... .

    It's about four years old.

I've bought a new one now because the old one only half works. The blender works great but the processor part is broken. Since it still half works I'm reluctant to throw it away. Is it rude for me to donate it to the Salvation Army or something? I feel bad doing that too because it's not working 100%. I've asked friends/family and no one wants it. Should I just throw it away?

  • My Dad has wished me happy birthday 10 days early! What to do?

Should I correct him? We live far apart so he only sent me a message, he hasn't called or anything yet? I was thinking of answering him and making a light joke of it or just letting it slide... he usually remembers my bday but it's always a few days early or late but never this early. Thanks!

  • Why can't my family visit me this time?

I was born in California and have lived in Australia for 8 years. Over the years I have spent countless dollars going to visit my family in the USA, which I'm not complaining about. They all used to live in Los Angeles but several years ago they all moved to all over the country, almost literally the four corners. But that hasn't stop me visiting everyone. Now when I go to visit my family, I take 4-5 weeks off work, spend money on internal flights to 4 different states, rent cars, stay in hotels (when visiting friends in my hometown), and don't work, so I have no income during this time. My parents have visited me once, and I have invited them to come again... but now they're asking me to come to the US instead. I understand that I am the one that moved away, even though none of them are in Cali anymore. But I can't afford to go to the US because it costs me over $5000 and I'm going to school and only working part time. Is that fair?

And the same goes for staying in touch, like phone calls. I am always calling them, they never call me. For the first time in 8 years, a parent called me for my birthday and I was shocked to hear their voice on the phone. I feel like I am meeting everyone 100%, no one is meeting me halfway. I bought a family member a webcam so we can chat online and they don't even try to use it. I spend quite a bit on money on phone cards and am always ringing someone to stay in touch. Most of my friends don't even send me an email, I email them.

Am I right in feeling sick and tired of this? Maybe they hate me, ha. I understand I was the one to move, but I am beginning to feel like I'm not even worth the effort for them to stay in touch with me. When I'm there, people make the effort to see me and make me feel loved, missed and welcome, but as long as I'm out of the country I'm worthless.

    Opinions?

  • Does anyone have any interesting framing ideas?

I have a small collection of old purses that were my great aunt's. I have about 7. They are old, turn of the 20th century metal purses. Like this, for example: http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1325/1491242258_37b... .

I would like to have them framed in a funky sort of way but can't think of how. Like all in one frame but mounted somehow. I think this would also help with their preservation since the more they get handled, the more they start to fall apart. I had them hanging on the wall for a while but people like to touch them and their beads start to fall off, etc. Thanks for any ideas! ;)

  • BRIDES! What have you done with your dress after you've married?? Can you wash and store it yourself?

Isn't getting married expensive enough? Now that all's said and done, it's going to cost another $350 to get my dress cleaned and preserved. So, naturally I've put it in the closet and it's hanging in its plastic cover until I'm ready to cough up more money. Has anyone ever washed their dress themselves? Can you just keep it in an airtight box or something rather that pay so much to have it professionally done? Has anyone had problems doing this?

  • Where can my brother buy red wine vinegar in Kuala Lumpur?

He is American and is living in KL. He's been to several supermarkets but cannot find red wine vinegar. He asked me to post him a bottle but it's going to cost $30! Is there anywhere he can find it in KL without me having to mail it to him? It's not worth it for one bottle of vinegar. Are there restrictions? Is it allowed in the country? Thanks.
