Just a stupid question i was wondering about. would there be any power flow from a generator into the ground or neutral of mains voltage? also what about the live from a portable generator into the live of mains? what about the live of one generator to the live of another?

Couldn't they have made it cheaper by not including it? Its not like anyone will use it. 

So i noticed the obd2 on my 2004 gmc sierra has power, but the scanner won't connect to it with the ignition on. But with the engine running, it connects just fine with no trouble codes. Why is this?

So i've been trying to get the obd2 to work on my 04 silverado. the scanner doesn't use batteries, and it turns on when i plug it in, so i'm pretty sure it's getting power, but whenever i try to read codes, it says "communication error". i've gotten it too work in the past by fiddling with the connector enough, but today it just wouldn't work. I also checked all the pins on the connectors, and they all look good. I've also tried testing it on a different vehicle, an 04 sierra, and it did the same thing. all the other vehicles i've tried have worked fine.

I saw some gear oil on amazon that just said 80w. And it got me thinking why theirs no second number like the usual 80w90. I'm guessing their the same viscosity at cold temperature, but i'm wondering what the viscosity of the 80w is at high or operating tempurature.

So i got a 2004 chevy silverado z71, and the stock tires were 265/70 r17, according to the sticker in the door jamb. Stock tire pressure is 35 psi front and back. But the tires it has now is 275/55 r20 with aftermarket rims. should i use the stock tire pressure, or a different psi?

I was doing some research and found that engines with flat tappets need oil with zinc, and I can't tell if this engine needs that or not. It's a 1.9 4 cylinder with sohc. On Wikipedia it does say that it has problems with cam wear.

And... wouldn't the chances of getting a 10 at least once be higher then only once?

So i got this truck recently and was wondering what engine it had. It has "vortec max" badging on the doors and it says "z71" on the bed. I looked this up and it should have a 6 liter v8. But when i looked up the vin and the 8th digit is a T, which means it has a 5.3l v8. soo my question is, is there any way to know for sure what engine it has, by looking under the hood? I noted it had a plastic cover with vortec on it, what looks like an aftermarket cold air intake, the numbers 706 on the passenger side cylinder head next to the oil filler, and that it was at least a v8. It is an extended cab, black with 20 inch chrome rims.

With proper oil and cooling, How long would an engine last at say, at, or just under redline? Also, how long would would

an engine last at top speed? Would it run out of gas first? what about the transmission? Would a ferrari or lambo last longer than a normal car with a lower top speed?

Does anyone know which one is better for gaming?
