Which are the better recordings of Faure's Nocturnes?
I only have a few of the nocturnes on several recordings by different pianists. They sound fantastic so if anybody can recommend to me the best complete (or near complete) set, that'd be great. Cheers.
3 AnswersClassical1 decade agoAny chamber recommendations please?
Hello! I'm after something specific here.
I'd like some good chamber music in a minor key that really hits the emotions in the sad spot. I'd preferably like something from after the 18th Century ie) transitional, romantic or 20th C.
Please don't recommend Beethoven, Chopin or Rach as I have absolutely huge collections of these guys' works. I'm also fond of the Brahms E minor cello sonata, is there any more Brahms along these lines I could be looking at?
Anything with a small and intimite collection of instruments from quartets, quintets to cello sonata or even solo piano. Just something provided its minor and specifically sad sounding, I want to watch my heart get ripped out and smeared all over the floor.
Thanks in advance.
5 AnswersClassical1 decade agoNovice question about filling up my car?
While filling up my car with gasoline on my driveway, I spilled a little bit naturally on the drive. I've since drenched the area in water but the recognisable gas multicolours are still visible here and there on the drive, despite it all having been washed.
I'm far from in the knowledge when it comes to even the most basic car stuff, so I'd like to know if I've washed it away enough, the last thing I need is to be having a smoke later and watch my driveway go up haha!
