  • rabbit stew or bbq over hickory?

my brother and a couple of guys are coming up to my hunting camp for our annual "WinterFest". my brother is bringing some bear meat, i have venison and a couple of rabbits but i've never cooked rabbit before. i was fixin to make a rabbit stew as i would a squirrel stew but then again, cooking the rabbit over hickory wood burned down to coals sounds good, too. any input would be appreciated.

  • NCL: is anyone thinking of taking advantage of their "You cruise, we'll drive" sales event

i receive an e-mail about every other day and rec'd 2 mailings via US Postal. i'm trying to talk the mrs into it since we also each have a $195.00 credit towards cruise fare because of some stateroom issues on the Norwegian Sun this past Feb.

  • engine knock?

i have a '99 Dodge Ram 1500 5-speed with a small 8. i live on top of a small mountain and the engine sometimes knocks hard while climbing up the 2 mile blacktop road. it doesn't knock too bad when i fill her up with super but with the price of gas being way out of hand i am wondering if there is something i can do to squelch or get rid of the engine knock.

  • Cheesesteak fans...?

last October while staying with a friend in O.C.N.J. i ate a Philly cheesesteak with provolone instead of American cheese. i was skeptical at first but it was GREAT. i now make my chicken cheesesteaks (also known as chicken spedies) sandwiches with provolone. does anyone else like provolone on their cheesesteaks?

PS: don't mention that cheese wiz crap that they do in South Philly or i'll report you for cheesesteak abuse!!!!

  • early sign of Alzheimer's?

i am 44. about 5 or 6 years ago i awoke from a mid-day nap in my bed. i had absolutley no idea where the heck i was. i pannicked and swiveled my head back and forth to see if i recognized any of the bedroom furniture, drapes, etc. after about 6 or 7 seconds i snapped out of it and realized i was in my own bed in my own bedroom in my own home. i don't think my heart ever raced so fast in all of my life as it did during that ordeal.

also, i forget things a little too easily anymore. my supervisor calls me in to his office to do a little project and review some reports. by the time i get back to my office (a mear 8 yards from his) i forget a detail or two of what he had told me.

as far as i know, there is no history of Alzheimer's or dimentia on either side of my family tree.

  • what should my wife and i take as a side dish?

this saturday is the last day of flintlock season for deer here in PA. my one buddy will have his 2nd annual coup de grace party. we will be eating venison (of course), wild turkey breast cutlets and squirrel stew. (but then again, soome of the turkey cutlets will be from the gobbler i donated to the "garage fund" as well as the big doe i got last saturday.)
