  • How to fix Windows.0 error?

    My computer is running Windows XP and normally uses the Windows folder on drive C. Then I had a masisve virus attack, which I eventually cleaned-up.

    Now it appears to be running out of the Windows.0 folder (I tracked the proccesses using iObit and it says the path goes through Windows.0) and because explorer and svchost and winlogon are running from that folder, I can't delete it or else Windows shuts-down mid-process.

    I'm thinking that if I could restart all those processes from the regular windows folder I could terminate the fraudulent processes safely and delete the folder, but that requires re-routing what folder XP runs out of, which I have no clue how to do.
