  • Where should I go with my free flight?

    I live in the DC area, and I have a free flight to anywhere in the US (except Hawaii(of course) and Alaska) that expires soon, and I'm trying to figure out where I can go for a one maybe two night mini vacation. Maybe somewhere with nice tourist attractions. Any ideas?

  • Mathematical Induction?

    I am trying to do the final step in a mathematical induction problem, but I've gotten down to the point below, but can't find a way to make the left hand side equal the right hand side.

    (n + 1)(n + 2) + 1/3(n + 1)(n + 2) = 1/3(n + 1)(n + 2)(n + 3)

    I know I'm only one or two steps away from getting the left hand side to look like the right hand side.

  • Using a text editor to develop on a mac?

    I am having trouble getting my simple html page to show up on my mac. I entered the following code on a text document:

    <html>

    <head><title>hello world</title></head>

    <body>hello world</body>

    </html>

    and when i save it as an HTML file, and open it, the browser opens up, but instead of displaying "hello world", the actual HTML code is displayed in the browser.

    Any one know how to solve this problem??

  • Should I move out or not?

    I am 23 and I live with my mother. I have a pretty good paying job. If i moved out, i could live comfortably on the salary I currently have.

    Since moving back in with my mother after graduating from college last year, ive been trying to re-adjust to living by her rules. But its hard to go from having all the freedom in the world while living on campus to moving back into her house. I really have no benefits staying here. She doesn't cook very often, so no home cooked meals, and im paying $400 a month in rent. The $400 is cheaper than having my own place, but I'm willing to Pay the extra money to have my own spot, because I don't really have many benefits at my mother's.

    The delimma comes because I want to save money and pay off my car or student loans becor I move out. But I don't know how much longer I can put up with living in my mothers house. I need my freedom!! another motivating factor is the fact that my mother lives 42 miles from where I work, so Nasty commute. Should I move out, or wait unitl I pay off one of my loans?

  • Am I using my money wisely?

    I recently graduated college this past May, and started working in June. I owe about $18,000 in student loans, and $10,000 on a car loan.

    I'm currently paying $500 a month on my student loans, when only $200 is due monthly, and I'm currently paying $400 on my car loan, when only $200 is due monthly. I've been told that it's better for me to save as much money as I can while living with my mother, so when I move out, i'll have a nice little chunk of change saved up.

    I want to know if I should just make the minimum payments, and save the rest, or if i should continue to pay more than I need to, and pay the loans off early...

    I am writing a program that sorts an array of elements. for some reason, the sort works when the value of my variable arr_size is 90 or less. But when I set the value of arr_size to 91, or anything bigger than 90, the array is no longer sorts. What kind of situations can create this problem??

  • How is it possible to see the gamma ray blast?

    How is it possible for scientists to have seen the gamma ray blast that supposedly occured 12.2 billion LIGHT YEARS away from earth. If im not mistaken, if something is 12.2 billion light years away from something, that means that at the speed of light, it would take 12.2 billion years to reach the object. How is seeing something that far way possible to see or detect?

  • Remote Procedure Call Help!? RPC Unavailable?

    I am trying to save an image from my facebook page to my computer. Usually it's no problem. I just right click the image, and click on save image as... then save it to my computer. For some reason, when im trying it now, i get this error "RPC is unavailable" or something of that nature. Any help on how to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated. I haven't tried to restart my laptop...maybe that will work..

  • New Flying Technology?

    I was watching TV, I can't remember if it was National Geographic or The Discovery Channel, or some other channel for that matter, but I think it was one of the two mentioned. But on this channel, I saw a preview for a show that was going to come on about some new flying technology.

    This technology in general was animal shaped, and moved just like the real life animal. For example, i distinctly remember seeing one shaped like a stingray. These pieces of technology were flying. I don't know how to describe them any better than that, but hopefully that helps.

    My question is, What is the name of that technology??
