US marines train for 2 months, Royal Marines commando's train for 8 and go on to specialise in a number of areas as well as being trained to the commando level not to mention they are experts in desert,mountain,jungle and arctic warfare as well as amphibious landings. US marines are pointless being supposed experts in amphibious warfare and doing expeditionary operations which army scouts are for as well as aerial warfare which is what the airforce is for. Why do some Americans even try and argue they're just as good as Royal Marines when they should probably be disbanded

If I joined the Royal Marines and then went on to join the SAS or SBS how much would would I roughly be looking at making?Would it depend on what country I took work in and how long do most contracts last? Sorry if this question seems a bit naive or stupid. I don't know very much about the security industry at the moment

First off I'm American. RMC's are obviously better their basic training is 8 months whereas USMC is 2 months. RM's get a weekend off before the they sit their 4 Commando tests but some Americans seem to have deluded themselves that they get every weekend off. RM's specialise in Amphibious assaults, Mountain, Desert and stealth warfare. Many of them also go on to join the UK special forces. The USMC only specialise in aspects of Amphibious warfare and Ariel warfare. RM's can also go on to become paratroopers and can specialise in many other fields. Americans argue that US marines go on further training but as I said RMC's can specialise in many other areas and regular RM's learn far more than any regular US Marines

How do officers view their men. Do they view them as stupid or uneducated because they may not be up to the level that they are

Both have bases in a Germany but why do the US share some of the UK's bases in Britain. I know we're military partners and allies but it's only really the US Air Force that are stationed there

I'm a celtic fan but I'm no longer a catholic and I'm a strong unionist and I hate the IRA and don't like the Irish . I plan on serving in the UK armed forces for 5 years as well.This is obviously as far as you can get away from a stereotype celtic fan and I think it's sad that religion or politics have any place in scottish football
