I haven't downloaded or changed anything but ever since this morning, my laptop won't bring up my desktop and will stay stuck on the welcome screen. I tried booting up in safe mode and it also gets stuck there. What can I do to solve this? It is an asus laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium if that helps at all.

I have wifi on my laptop but when I first got my router all I had to do was press a button to connect. I wanna connect with wifi on my DS and on an older laptop but it asks for the WEP key. I know my network security key and tried that but it didnt work so I assume its a different thing.

I downloaded a screensaver and extracted the file and when I double click it in my downloads folder it opens up. I tried putting it in my system 32 folder but when I go to change my screensaver and find it on the list, it says it can't find it and it doesnt open. What do I do to set it?

I don't know much about computers but I have around 630 dollars to spend on a laptop for college. Its hard to know what exactly happened since the lights were off but my sisters 10 month old dachshund was running across the floor jumped and all we heard was a whimper.
