What are the Flashbacks in "A Doll's House" by Henrik Ibsen?
I'm supposed to describe the flashbacks in the play "A Doll's House" by Henrik Ibsen, however for the life of me I cannot find any within the play. Am I reading it wrong, or are there really none?
1 AnswerTheater & Acting1 decade agoHow to get a white image on red fabric?
I'm making a blanket for my fiance who's currently in Iraq. In the center of the blanket I will have a red fabric circle with this black and white castle on it. http://www.150th.com/history/en_cast.gif I just can't figure out the best way to do it and still have it be good for a blanket. I'm thinking my options are to get it screen printed, to sew the outline onto white fabric and attach it to the red fabric, or maybe an iron on transfer... But my computer doesn't print white so I'm not sure how well that would work. Any suggestions or ideas?
3 AnswersHobbies & Crafts1 decade agoCan a civilian get onto an Army base without military ID?
I am flying across the country to see my fiance before he gets deployed. My flight comes in early and apparently he will be in a ceremony when I get to the base, so he wants me to meet him at the barracks to pick him up. My only issue is that I've heard mixed reviews on whether or not I'll be able to get on base with just state ID. Since we're not married I don't have military ID. Any info, anyone?
16 AnswersMilitary1 decade agoAre fake flower petals safe with floating candles?
I'm planning on making a centerpiece involving flower petals and floating candles in glass bowls. I was wondering if fake flower petals would be ok, or would real petals be better. I'm looking for information on both safety (since there will be fire) and appearance. Thank you.
2 AnswersDecorating & Remodeling1 decade agoWhat desert should I pair with this meal?
I'm making pork roast with grilled asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes for dinner tonight. This is my fiance's last night in town before he is shipped off to Iraq, so I want to make it really special. Any ideas for desert?
3 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoHelp with coping while a loved one is deployed...?
In just over two weeks my boyfriend is being deployed. Since he's National Guard, he's first going to be doing his "two weeks" (you know that whole one weekend a month, two weeks a year thing?) which will actually be 20 days training somewhere in the states. Then he's got a short period of leave. From there he's getting deployed... It'll only be a year from that point, no more.
But even so he and I will be apart during that time. Does anyone have any good recommendations for online support groups? Or things to do (or not do) while he's away to keep my mind off the deployment? I've never been this long without a significant other, and neither has he, so we're both concerned about what's going to happen while he's not around. Any suggestions?
1 AnswerOther - Family & Relationships1 decade agoWhat foods to serve at a 2-year-old's birthday part?
I'm throwing a small party at my home for my daughter on Sunday, and need ideas for the food. It's going to be... Children: her, another child her age, a four year old, and a five year old. Adults: a few close family friends and family members. More adults than kids. I've already ordered th cake, and just need to think of what food to serve. It's happening at 1:00, so will be right around lunch or just after.
7 AnswersToddler & Preschooler1 decade agoThings to make a sick person feel better...?
My boyfriend's sick and I leave work soon. He's asked for a tick soup, so I'm probably going to get him on of the Campbells Heart soups. I'm also going to get some OJ and Sprite to mix. He's complaining of a sore throat, headache, and he's freezing cold when he shouldnt' be. Any other suggestions, for comfort type things?
1 AnswerOther - Health1 decade agoQuestion about US military bases in foreign countries...?
So, why is it that the US has active full force military bases outside the US, but there are no foreign bases within the US? I'm just curious if there's a specific reason since I got to thinking about it the other day and it seemed odd. Thanks.
7 AnswersMilitary1 decade agoWhat to wear for a spa experience?
My mom booked a spa day for me (massage, facial, manicure, and pedicure). I've never had any of those services before, so I'm unsure if there's certain clothes I should wear to make the experience easier, or if I should go in with no makeup... Any recomendations?

4 AnswersHair1 decade agoDealing with an ex who's still a friend?
My boyfriend and I have been dating for a few months. He has a child with an ex-girlfriend. They stopped dating years ago, but they're still really good friends and hang out a lot. That doesn't really bother me - I'm the same way with some ex's of mine.
However, she is polite to me, but at the same time I feel like she's giving me a cold shoulder. Also my boyfriend is going to this formal event in a month or two, which he's taking me to (it's a work thing). She called him, trying to get him to take her instead. He said "No, I'm taking my woman". But it took her about ten minutes to get it that he wasn't going with her.
I don't think anything would happen between them, especially since I don't' really feel any chemistry there. But does anyone have an idea as to why she's acting that way? And should I be concerned? She didn't act like this with any of his other ex's: most of them were just short flings, and the last "serious" one before me was a friend of hers.
1 AnswerSingles & Dating1 decade agoWhich skirt should I use for my costume?
I'm making a skirt for my Halloween costume. I'm going as a gothic fairy, and the coloring will be black and purple. I'm just not sure which style of skirt I want to make - tulle or handkerchief. Each of the below is an example of what I'm thinking it'll look like (except for the colors, and the handkerchief would be shorter). What do you think?

3 AnswersHalloween1 decade agoAdvice regarding an extended absence from my daughter...?
In order to advance my career I have to take a 6 month training course overseas which my daughter (who is currently 18mo) will be unable to attend. I can choose when to do this, anytime within the next 4 or 5 years. I know the absence will be hard on her no matter what, but I want to make sure she remembers me when I get back, and I want her to be able to understand that mommy will be coming back. Any suggestions on when would be the best age for me to do this?
10 AnswersParenting1 decade agoAir Force Reserve or Active Duty?
I'm planning on joining the Air Force. I've been planning on doing it for quite a few years, but as it is a large commitment I wanted to weigh all my options first. I'm now trying to decide between Active Duty and Reserve/National Guard. I currently have a family (including an 18mo daughter) and so am trying to decide which option would be best for my family. Any assistance in this matter would be appreciated.
9 AnswersMilitary1 decade agoNeed advice for breaking up with someone...?
So one of my guy friends recently started dating this girl that he's been friends with for almost a decade. She's been chasing after him the whole time, but he just recently got interested in her. After dating her he realized that they're not compatible and so wants to break up with her, but also doesn't want to destroy the friendship. She's fully interested in him, and is talking about marriage and everything (they've only been dating a month). Anyone have any suggestions on how he should break it off? She'll be crushed no matter what, but he wants to do it as delicately as possible.
1 AnswerSingles & Dating1 decade agoIt this personality trait weird?
So I'm dating someone new, and we just got into our first fight last night. It was an all-out battle over the phone that ended at about 2am. The next day we chatted and were absolutely fine, and happy with the fact that we both fought. We came the the resolution that we were both snarky about it and were pleased with that fact (think Dr Cox and Jordan from Scrubs). I absolutely loved it, because I love a guy that fights back with me. I've dated guys who don't fight, they only try to rationalize. I hated that and felt so stifled. Is it weird that I enjoy fighting with my significant other?
7 AnswersSingles & Dating1 decade agoAdvice for breaking up with a guy.?
So I've been dating this guy, let's call him Russ, for a few months now. We've been in a non-exclusive relationship though, and he's known that I've been dating other people (and before you comment on my promiscuity, no one in this situation was having sex). Well, this other guy (let's call him Josh) and I decided to become exclusive. Now I have to break it off with Russ and I don't know how. Anytime I've broken up with a guy it's always been a mutual thing. I'm planning on going to his place later today to tell him, but I just don't know what to say. Any suggestions? I don't want to hurt him, but I know whatever I do it will sting since I could tell that he's been hoping to become exclusive with me.
32 AnswersSingles & Dating1 decade agoWhen is it okay to take a trip with someone you're dating?
I just recently (within the last month) started dating a very wonderful man. He is planning a trip with some friends to Las Vegas about three months from now, and invited me along (with him paying for everything). But, I don't know if that would be too soon to go on a trip with someone. Any suggestions?
