If we are given a notice to quit do we have to stay until the termination date?
Our landlord has given us a notice to quit. It's a month to month lease. We have until the end of October, but we'd really like to move now. Since SHE'S the one that's making us move, are we required to pay and stay through October, or can we legally move sooner?
I live in Los Angeles
3 AnswersLaw & Ethics8 years agoHow soon after I get married can I change my name?
I want to get it done ASAP. We get married on a Tuesday, and we don't leave for our honeymoon until Wednesday night, so can I get anything done Wednesday? Or do I have to wait for something to be mailed to me? If I can't change my name yet, what CAN I do that day to get the ball rolling?
4 AnswersMarriage & Divorce8 years agoWent from vegetarian to eating fish, getting migraines now?
I was a vegetarian for six years. A couple weeks ago I started eating fish again. Now I'm getting really bad headaches, every few days. I'm not 100% sure they're related but it started around the same time and that's the only difference that I can think of in my life right now.
I really can't remember the last time I hurt this bad, and it's every few days until I take a painkiller.
Could fish really have that strong of an impact so fast? It's been mostly white albacore tuna and salmon. I remove the skin of the salmon because I know it's got a lot of mercury in it, could I be just od'ing on mercury already? Or is there something else that could be going on?
4 AnswersOther - General Health Care8 years agoWhat do I need to do to use someone's image in a product I'm selling when I'm not the photographer?
Someone said I need a model release form but those seem to all be geared towards photographers. People will be submitting their own images, taken by themselves or family/friends. What do I need to make sure it's all legal?
3 AnswersLaw & Ethics8 years agoWhat reason do I give to an interviewer for leaving my job?
I'm working a job that I love, but I hate my boss. He owns the whole (small) company, and is a huge sleasebag. There is no HR to report him to, and I just don't want to work with HIM anymore. He's miserable.
So I'm going on job interviews in the same field. I am telling them I currently have a job, but when they ask me "Why are you leaving your current job?" what do I say? I know boss-bashing is a HUGE no-no, and I feel like "better opportunities" sounds lazy.
Suggestions?
1 AnswerOther - Careers & Employment8 years agoWhat do I need to do to use someone's image in a product I'm selling?
I'm making a calendar with people's pictures. What do I have to do to make sure this is legal? Do they have to sign a release of some sort? Does it have to be notarized? Where can I get an example of it? Is there anything else I need to do? Am I required to pay royalties if it's 100% for profit?

4 AnswersRenting & Real Estate8 years agoCan I be there when a restraining order is served, if I'm not serving it?
He's not stupid. He knows I'm trying to get a restraining order served, so if I just have the cops or a server go up to his door he won't just say "Yes, I'm ______." So, can I be there, maybe in the car, while someone else goes up to serve him, so I can verify it's him?
Or, can they verify off a picture? Do they HAVE to ask "Are you _____?" and have him say yes, or can they say "Hi, _____, you've been served."
5 AnswersLaw & Ethics8 years agoI think I have GERD. Without medication how can I try to treat it?
I have frequent heartburn and lately feel like food is coming back up. Sometimes I find myself doing that semi-throw-up thing where bile enters your throat and goes back down. All the symptoms point to GERD right?
I read that a good way to treat GERD is with a lifestyle and diet change, but what kind of change? What foods can irritate it? Is eating slower or eating less food going to help? Will losing weight help (I'm in the process of doing that anyway). Will avoiding certain foods help? I'm a borderline vegetarian - I recently started eating some fish again a few days ago, but these symptoms have been persisting for a few weeks now.
Thanks in advance!
6 AnswersOther - Health8 years agoHow can I get rid of this crippling headache?
I don't know if it's due to how I slept or what. I was fine when I woke up this morning, I took my dogs out to the groomer to get their nails trimmed, ran to the grocery store, came home, packed myself a lunch, then left the house again to go to work. The moment I stepped out of the house again, I got a splitting headache, and it's been getting progressively worse throughout the day. It's starting in my right temple and emanating into my eyeball and sinuses down into my neck. It's so bad that I can't even function right now.
I don't have a way to leave work to get painkillers or anything. What can I do? I've tried stretching my neck out, closing my eyes, rubbing my head...I don't know if this is a migraine or what but I feel like I'm going to pass out. What can I do?
Also I don't have insurance or money to go to the doctor.
2 AnswersPain & Pain Management8 years agoHow to report a doctor who claims to still circumcise females in the United States?
How I got it is irrelevant (I didn't break any laws), but I have the name and e-mail address of a doctor who is willing to perform circumcisions on females babies. She travels around the country to help Muslim families have this done. I contacted her posing as a woman looking for her assistance. She said she would travel to me, but I didn't want to set up a meeting because I don't know what I'm doing.
What do I do with this information? I don't have *proof*, just her e-mails. And to be honest, it's possible that this is a hoax, but I have a strong feeling it's not. I got her information from her circumcised niece.
Do I call the police? Do I report her to someone?
3 AnswersLaw Enforcement & Police8 years agoGood and simple fish recipes for transitioning from vegetarian to eating fish?
I haven't had any kind of meat in six years, but I recently decided to start introducing fish into my diet.
Before I became a vegetarian I hardly ever ate fish. I had salmon maybe once or twice, some shrimp a couple times, and tuna sandwiches. So I don't really know much about fish.
I have a ton of salmon and tilapia filets so I'd really like to work with those most. Something simple but yummy. And what are some creative ways to use it? I am seeing a smoked salmon quesadilla, that looks good. And salmon on baked potatoes looks good too. Any other suggestions? One thing I make a lot is a cream-based veggie pot pie, would that be gross to incorporate fish?
Also, what are scallops and what do they taste like?
4 AnswersCooking & Recipes8 years agoFungal or bacterial cuticle infection?
The last few months I've been getting chronic cuticle infections. They get red and swollen and start peeling. I only discovered a few days ago that these are cuticle infections, I just thought it was really bad dry skin.
I'm reading online that there are two types - fungal and bacterial. Is there a way to determine which mine is? And how to prevent it?
I moisturize my cuticles a lot BECAUSE of the frequent peeling and irritation - could that be contributing to it?
1 AnswerSkin Conditions8 years agoHow do I make my boobs look big for my wedding?
I'm borderline b-c cup. I'm a big girl so these aren't proportional to my body. My wedding is in three months. How can I make my boobs look much fuller at my wedding?
This is the bra I'm getting (in white), if it matters.

Are there *good* silicon inserts? The ones I've seen are all little and don't make a difference. If I get good ones, what's the best way to position them?
Any other advice?
7 AnswersWeddings8 years agoPros and cons to soldering wedding set? Can I engrave soldered rings?
Something is telling me not to, although I'm not sure what. It seems like it would be so much easier to wear it all as one ring and not have to worry about multiple rings. My set looks like this:
http://img.auctiva.com/imgdata/1/4/5/2/8/3/5/webim...
Only I have two of the curved bands, one for each side of the engagement ring. I wouldn't ever be wearing one or both of the bands without the e-ring. I take any rings off to sleep, do dishes, shower, garden, etc. And since the e-ring is fairly flat, I don't think it would be much more inconvenient than wearing the wedding bands.
I've been told it decreases the value, which isn't that much of an issue because I don't plan on ever selling it, but it is insured - would this be a problem if I ever needed it fixed or replaced?
Lastly, what about engraving? My ring is fairly thin so I was hoping that soldering would give a thicker working space for engraving, but someone told me about how their soldered ring broke apart, and I wouldn't want that to break apart my engraving. Maybe I could just engrave it higher on the band? I don't know how high they solder them.
Thanks in advance!
3 AnswersWeddings8 years agoI have two wedding bands/enhancers - what to do during wedding ceremony?
This is the set I have:
http://img.auctiva.com/imgdata/1/4/5/2/8/3/5/webim...
Except I have two of the bands, one for each side.
How should we do this during the ceremony? Should my fiance take my engagement ring off, place one band on, replace my engagement ring, then place the other band on? Or should I place one band on before the wedding along with my engagement ring, and just have him place the final band during the ceremony? I know some traditions say that the engagement ring is to be worn on the right hand during the ceremony but I'll already have a ring on that hand.
Thanks!
3 AnswersWeddings8 years agoGrain and potato free dog food?
I'm on a budget, and I have big dogs, so it's hard to find affordable food that's good for my pooches. Right now I have them on Taste of the Wild's grain-free formula because one of my dogs has a sensitive stomach, but it has potatoes and I'd really like to avoid all starches.
Any suggestions on good-quality food that has no grains or potatoes or starches? I'm HOPING to stick to what I'm paying now (the food I buy is about a dollar a pound before tax) but if I have to pay more I will.

3 AnswersNASCAR8 years agoThe skin under my nails keeps peeling and it's painful?
It's been a problem for a long time now. Everyone says "clip it off, moisturize plenty" and I do and it doesn't work. I've tried various moisturizers, all natural moisturizers, oils, I've tried leaving it alone altogether, and nothing works. It's painful sometimes too, it gets red and swollen like it's infected. How can I stop this?
When I say "under my nails" I don't mean like the nail bed, I mean on my finger between the cuticle and first knuckle, but often right next to the cuticle. Not quite hangnails though.
3 AnswersOther - Skin & Body8 years agoMy retainer creates a canker sores on my tongue?
I'm supposed to wear my retainer full time but I never end up doing it because after a couple days, I develop a sore on the side of my tongue, so I end up taking the retainer out to let it heal, and my teeth go right back to where they were, so I'm not making any progress.
Can I do anything to fix this? Or will my tongue start to adjust to the retainer (IE, avoid it?), if I just suffer through it long enough?
