  • **Horse Tail Swishing** Help**?

So I have a barrel horse. He's only had 3 owners his whole life me being his third. He's been vet checked and vet checked and chiropractor checked and dentist checked. My saddle is fitting properly, but me posting a Facebook video to show our progress has raised some controversy. He swishes his tail while running barrels, when he switches leads, on trail rides, on poles, riding bareback, when he takes off he does it as well. To me when I watch the video I think he's flagging (which I see ALOT of rope and barrel horses do) and is "normal" now nothing follows his behavior. He's not cinchy, he works great (if he was in pain he wouldn't get down on his jocks and turn), he has no bad behavior following the tail swishing or wringing. He's appetite and attitude is fine, he is shod correctly. He doesnt throw his head.. Nothing follows this tail behavior. Has anyone seen a horse do this as a quirk? I've done some googling and people are stating that tail swishing isn't always bad? Opinions and personal experiences are welcome! No rude comments please. Thanks so much!!

  • **Horse Ulcers**?

This is my first time dealing with horse ulcers, bought some omeprazole tablets started her on 8 tablets a day at 150 mg each with allows her to be getting 1,200 mg a day. She is a small horse so I feel that this will help. My question if can I feed aloe juice and omeprazole at the same time or is better to wait till she comes off of the omeprazole. Thanks so much.

  • I Love Someone Who Is In A Relationship, Advice?

Heres the deal. i'm going through a break up of my own, and i'm kind of glad it ended in a way because my heart wasn't in it 100% with the person i was with, Because i am still very much in love with someone from my past. Recently i have noticed a pattern emerges, the person from my past always seems to come back to me for comfort after a break up and i always go back to him for comfort after a break up because we are so compatible. We are the same person, but different genders. all of our interests are the same. Even though me and this person have recently cut ties, i still wish nothing but the best for him in life. But to see pictures and statuses of/about him and his new girlfriend, i fail to see where they are even close to compatible. He is more of the outdoorsy/rodeo type with ranching, horses, cattle, rodeo, working, this is a guy who cant stand to live in a sub division. ect and his girlfriend seems to lean towards more the darker side of life. the dark music, living in the middle of town, the gamer lifestyle, ect. I believe opposites attract, but these two could not possibly be any more opposite. while i wish him the best in his relationship.i also find myself hoping that their relationship will end and the fact that she is several months pregnant with a child who is not his. i fear that his role in fatherhood will eventually consume his life and take up all his time. i know its selfish of me but im crazy about him

do i just sit in the dark and wait like i always?

  • *People Trying To Ruin My Relationship* *Help*?

Me and my boyfriend have been together going on 2 years strong. Never had any trust issues everything we have had a fight we have always talked it out ect. He's never given me a reason not to trust him. But from me being hurt so so badly in the past I seem to cant trust anybody! And it sucks it really does I'm trying so hard to work on that. I trust him its just I over react and look into something too deeply. My mind seems to make up situations that aren't really there. Lately alot of girls have been trying to get into the middle of our relationship. He's a friendly guy and I think these girls take it as flirting it was just the way he was raised. He was raised not to be a jerk. He offered this one girl to work on her truck (while I was there) and when we left that night she starting texting him then a few nights later she was texting him again asking where he's been the past few nights, being weird. When i knew for a fact where he was. And a few other scenarios where girls find it okay to try to get in the middle of our relationship. And them doing this isn't helping my trust at all. I just need some advice. I don't know what to do my heart and emotions can't take much more of this. I'm scared its gonna crumble my entire relationship. Any kind words would be great nothing mean please. Best answer will be determined.

  • Horse Swollen Leg Opinion?

okay so i have a really nice filly out of peppy san badger. She has done something to her ankle about a month and a half ago. There was a bunch of fluid on it, had the vet come out he drained the swelling out the fluid is gone but it seems like the knot is still there. Its not nearly as big as it was so the swelling has gone down alot but the knot is still there. Through out this whole situation she has never gone lame or limped once. Ever! We have light rode her and still no lameness. So whats yalls opinion on her. My vet told me to give her another 4 weeks off and then start riding her but this knot is really really bothering me. Opinons and kind words will be helpful im super stressed about it. Thanks.

  • DMSO question for my horse?

ok so i have a 2 year old filly that got silly in the pasture and now has a swollen knee. The vet gave me some dmso for her. I know somewhat about the stuff. I know it can be very dangerous if not used properly and that gloves is a must. Can i apply the dmso straight on or do i have to mix it with something? This is my first time using it but still know the precautions. So can i apply it directly then turn her out? I was told that i could wrap it but with my job hours being spontanious i domnt wanna take the chance of not being home in time to take the wraps off. 12 hours on 12 hours off is a rule that i live by when it comes to wrapping. Any info is helpful. Thanks yall.

  • Horse Problem? Help!?

a friend of mine has given me her horse to start on barrel racing for her and i have come accross an issue that i cant seem to break down and find a solution for, so i was hoping some of yall could help. Basically this little mare has good ground manners and rides half way descent but she is scared of another horse cantering/loping behind her. I was thinking at first that maybe its the noise of something behind her thats not it. We have shot guns off of her, cracked whips, drug stuff from a rope so that sound is behind her none of that bothers her. Its another horse coming at her from the rear or from the front. Not people or objects just horses. Do yall have any ways to fix this? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
