Also, when I do manage to be able to upgrade to the preferred package, how long will it take for my speed to go up. Does someone have to come setup and will it just automatically change the speed?

I recently got the Economy Package (768kbps) from Cox and we tried to hook it up to our D-Link DI-624 router. For some reason, it won't work. So now, we just use an ethernet hub. Is it just the internet speed that makes it so we can't get the router to work? Or is it just the router? By the way, the router has worked before when we had Verizon Fios (don't ask why "we" canceled it, it's a really long story.

If the speed of the internet is the problem, will the 1.5mbps or 10mbps work with our router? If it's just the router, what are some cheap ($40-$60) but excellent routers out there?
