  • At What Age Did You Discover Your Career?

At What Age Did You Discover Your Career Path that you are current working in? By career path I mean something you see doing for 10+ years or longer! I say 10 years because forever is a long time. And it's reasonable that people change careers but committing to one career for 10 years is a pretty serious. So were you in your teens or younger, in your 20s, 30s or 40s or are you stilling searching for something you are passionate about and would stick with for 10 year?

  • Have you ever had a hobby that you loved but when you pursued it as a job you hated it?

I love shopping, malls, shoes and clothes but then I took a part time job and right away I knew I hated it. You fold the same things over and over and people just like to mess it up. Has anyone else ever experienced that? I think, People should be wear not every hobby makes a good career or business.

  • Do You Think Shy People Can Change?

Some people are extremely shy. Do you think they can change or do they just have to find jobs and careers where they don't have to be social? How do people over come being shy if they are well into the 20's and have always been this way?

  • Do you think all high schools should teach computer science 101 to students before they graduate?

I find a lot of high school students still don't know about all of the job and career opportunities related to computer/technology. However there are a lot of articles indicating that technology jobs are going to be the biggest area of growth going forward and that there are more jobs than there are people graduating with these degrees.

Every industry uses computers so it seems that everyone would benefit from your basic IT class - does anyone else think that's a good idea?

  • Do you think schools are helping students understand the job market demands of the future?

Parents and Kids - I'm wondering if you think your schools are doing a good job helping students understand that the majority of well paying jobs in the future will be in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM)? There are more jobs then people with those skills already. Is your school doing something good that promotes STEM if so I'd like to hear about it. If you are interested in more information about STEM, let me know.
