  • Is my apartment complex in the wrong?

A few months back my apt complex started posting notes on my door saying I'm not paying pet rent and I never informed them in my lease that I have a pet. The note demanded we pay the required pet deposit by the end of the week. When I went to the office to discuss, they opened my file and right on the top was a picture of my dog that we were required to submit at signing. There was also a section detailing the pet fees and pet deposit that we already made. It turns out it was THEIR mistake. They never applied the pet rent to our account when posting our monthly bill to our resident portal. The resident portal doesn't break down the total charges, it simply says balance due. I have paid that balance due every single month on time. During my meeting I basically told them, I don't feel as though I should pay for their mistake. The manager agreed with me and said he wouldn't pay either. He told me to email him my concerns so he could forward it to his corporate office so they could make a decision as his hands were basically tied. I sent an email and heard nothing back. I came home today to a demand letter saying I need to pay the $308 within 5 days or vacate the premises. Do I have any argument in this situation or am I basically forced to pay for their inaccurate billing?

  • Sharp pain in tooth with a composite filling?

About a month ago I got a pretty large cavity filled on one of my upper molars. The dentist used the composite to avoid the chance that a metal filling would be noticeable when I smiled. For the first few weeks I had no pain whatsoever. Then out of nowhere I was driving and munching on beef jerky (kind of chewy) and I had a pain in the tooth while chewing. I kind of shrugged it off at first but then that night I had another pain in the tooth while chewing on pizza and it was probably the worst pain I have ever felt that was tooth related. Since then I haven't chewed on that side of my mouth. Anybody know what could possibly be wrong?
