Why do so many people think it is wrong to carry a dog in a purse / bag?

before people judge,please know all the facts.

The Facts :

Our Nina is a very tiny mutt. That's her picture in my profile.

She is a 4 year old ,3 lb 7oz Chihuahua/Mini Dachshund mix. {Chi-weenie for those who like Labels, like My daughter ha ha}

My Nina was adopted from a rescue at 8 weeks old and weighed 6 ounces. She goes to the dog park every Sunday, {weather permitting } and runs around ,chases her ball, plays with other dogs and Kids. she is walked twice a day. 1st thing in the AM and again in the PM. she uses a puppy litter box while I am at work. {cats are not the only ones that use them}

She was diagnosed with arthritis in her left hip and has a bad knee. I give her strengthening exercises/ physical therapy at home and she takes an Rx for her arthritis and knee. But, with her health issue and her tiny little legs getting tired so fast or there is 4 feet of snow outside....why not carry her in the puppy-purse?

She actually loves it. If she sees ANY purse that is a little bit big,she tries to crawl in to it. which is very funny but we really have to watch her around other peoples handbags.

So I do not see the problem. And I am tired of the dirty looks strangers give me when we are out somewhere. I honestly do not understand why so many people are so bothered by this.

So I ask again...Why is it wrong for Me to carry my dog in a Puppy-Purse ?
