I have a 95 del sol 188000 miles 5 speed. Two problems which may be the same or a different issue. First when i try to start it often times it will click loudly but eventually start ( maybe timing belt?) Second at any point whether idling or driving theres a loud screeching sound which often causes it to cut off. My first thought was an ignition switch because in between on and start the car will drive near perfect. However even after replacing it there was no change. Please some one help

I have a del sol 1.5l 5 speed. Im aware i need a timing belt however when i start it i hear sqealing and the engine will die randomly. 4 months ago i broke half the key in the ignition and had to take the lock out so with this said.... the only time the car wont sqeal and die is if i have the key turned between on and start which seems to only affect like the radio and heat/ac. I was told i may need an ignition starter switch but would like a second opinion

I have a 1995 grand am and when I drive it, it cuts out. I got new spark plugs and wires and a new battery. For some reason something is either slowing down the engine (not the compressor) or the fuel isn't getting to it right. It also has a new air filter and fuel filter. Any thoughts?
