  • What movie or TV show was this?

I read something recently that, during some sort of celebratory scene in a TV show or movie (can't remember which), the prop department actually poured the cast champagne without them knowing it.

Anyone know what TV show or movie this was?

  • Can nanobots be programmer to target humans?

Is it possible, via computer programming and cooperation with biologists, for a nanobot to be targeted to kill exclusively humans, without affecting any other primate at all whatsoever? Or no matter what, would the nanobots also attack and kill all primates due to adaptation, mutation or what-have-you?

  • Bullet measurement and shotgun gauge?

I know that the first numbers are the diameter of the bullet itself and that the second numbers are the length of the "case".

By case, is shell meant, or is it referring to the whole round itself?

And, as for shotgun gauges, how much more powerful is a 8-gauge round, as opposed to a 10-gauge? 12-gauge?

  • Operating system gigabyte loss?

I know that if you have a hard drive listed at 500 GB, after it's formatted and the operating system is loaded, you lose a number of gigs due to the OS.

What I'm wondering is if there's a standard percentage or numerical loss, per unit (like per gigabyte or something) or if it's completely unpredictable.

Like my 8GB second gen iPod Touch only has 6.8GB available. So I can assume iOS 4 1.2GB in size, so a 32 GB 2G iPod Touch would only have 30.8 GB available yes?

What about a current gen 32 GB iPod Touch? (i.e. how big is iOS 5 and how much of a GB reduction does it have on a 32?)

  • What do I put on a resume when I have no work experience?

What do I put on my resume when all I have is my two-going-on-three years of college undergrad and my high school diploma to my name? (as in no work experience, no volunteer or community service experience, no awards/citations, no club memberships or anything of that sort)? Should I just put on my contact information and school info and hand it over or what?

    If you isolate "m", does E=mc^2 become mass = c^-2 * Energy?

  • Discomfort in testicles?

On rare occasions (like this morning), one of my testicles (usually my right one) feels like it's "settling", as though it had shifted.

It's not painful, just uncomfortable and very unnerving.

Any idea what it is and what causes it?

    While I'm here...

I also get the occasional tingling in the back side of my scrotum. It doesn't hurt, it just tingles. Any ideas what causes it?

  • Coldest a human body can get?

    Assuming:

    1. they're dead

    2. no decomposition at all

Based on the above assumptions, what is the "absolute zero" of a human body? Or would it fluctuate to become the environment (i.e. if it was outside it would be close to the temperature of the ground/floor the body laid on)?

  • Why haven't the Mexican drug cartels been labeled as "terrorist groups"?

    The United States Code reads:

*"the term “international terrorism” means terrorism involving citizens or the territory of more than 1 country"

*"the term “terrorism” means premeditated, politically motivated violence perpetrated against noncombatant targets by subnational groups..."

    as well as

"(1) the term “international terrorism” means activities that—

    (A) involve violent acts or acts dangerous to human life that are a violation of the criminal laws of the United States or of any State, or that would be a criminal violation if committed within the jurisdiction of the United States or of any State;

    (B) appear to be intended—

    (i) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population;

(ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or

(iii) to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination, or kidnapping; and

    (C) occur primarily outside the territorial jurisdiction of the United States, or transcend national boundaries in terms of the means by which they are accomplished, the persons they appear intended to intimidate or coerce, or the locale in which their perpetrators operate or seek asylum; "

Based on these definitions, it seems to me that the cartels are not just terrorists, but international terrorists.

So, why hasn't the US labeled them as such?

  • Who repairs government buildings?

If either the White House, the Capitol, the Dept of Justice building, etc. received storm damage, or simply needed a new coat of paint, would an outside contractor be hired, or would it be the Army Corps of Engineers, or the Department of the Interior or who would make repair work, etc?

I hope this makes sense to you...

  • PC CD-ROM vs PC DVD-ROM?

Why is it that PC CD-ROM games need the disk to play while PC DVD-ROM games install everything to the hard drive and the disk is, for lack of a better word, superfluous?

And is there any way to completely install a CD-based game onto a computer, a la DVD-based games?

  • Can I play CD-ROM games on my computer without the CD?

I have a lot of older (early-to-mid 2000s) games that I adore, but are CD-ROM based and are for Windows XP or earlier.

First, can I play XP (or 95/98) games on a 64-bit Windows 7 laptop (upgraded from 64-bit Vista)?

Secondly, if I can, is there any way to make it so that I can play the game without the disk, like transferring all the data from the CD to my laptop or something?

  • Why aren't American protesters committed to the protest?

In Egypt, Tunisia, all those places, the protesters protested for weeks on end.

Why is it that Americans don't do the same?

Why do we only protest for a few hours, then go home and why don't they stay committed to whatever it is they're protesting?

  • What would I call this spy equipment?

What do you call the magnets you would use to climb a building or attach a handle to a metal plate or something like that, something a military infiltration team or spies might use?

The only thing I can come up with is "hand clamps" and that doesn't seem quite right.

    Help please!
